if all the land surrounding the pond is privatly owned than the only way to fish there would be to get permision from the owner of the land

I'm not sure what the name of that pond/lake is but I am familiar with it. The houses in there are quite amazing, It's just off the 5th Concession. The golf course next door is Hawthorne Valley. Never thought of trying it. May just do so once the season opens up.

I dont think it links up to the golf course... I figure that it would be a spring fed pond and that it may be stocked. After all it you put 25 houses on the pond all worth a million bucks, it wouldnt be hard to imagine someone paying to dump a thousand fry into the water with plans to fish it in a few years.
Why live on a lake with no fish in it!?!
This will be a black-ops fishing journey one day/night

I drove by this place on the way back from Greenwood conservation area yesterday. Looks quite promising. It doesn't connect with the golf course, you are right.

There is no access from the road that has the houses. There is a chainlink fence I believe along the 5th concession but it does not go all the way around. So you can probably just walk to the end of the fence then go around it. Looked for a resident to ask but it was so cold nobody was out and about.

Good recon!

Ive looked carefully at the google earth, does it look like at the top of the cul-de sac there is a pathway that goes between the houses to the strip that spans the water over to the side with no houses? It almost seems like an access point for the people that live on the street, but dont have water access from their house, like the east side of the street.

Were you fishing in Greenwood when you were in the area?

Never tried it but next time I drive by I will do a little investigating for you. Or you can always try it for yourself until someone asks you to leave. Take it upon yourself to get out and try throwing some various lures/tackle. You just never know what you will hook into. Good luck.

I usually get bored of fishing the local ponds and such and i usually find myself fishing Mud lake a few times a year.
two things i can tell you
1) there is more than just perch and catties.. there are also pumkinseed, giant goldfish, and yes there are some good game fish small and large mouth bass which i have caught personally and pickeral. The fish are hard to catch it seems they are really finiky but the bass are good size if you manage to squeeze one out after say 1hr of working the structure slowly with a tube.

2) the owner of the lake is giant F#%@ing C&%t! he has called the police to get anglers away from his lake. But there is a loop hole in his plan to hog his lake lol as long as you fish on the government road its perfectly legal you just cant go near his property. (stay on mud lake rd.)

I used spend summers terrerizing that guy when i was a kid, and ya you're right he is a F-en--C-Sucker. I fished there in around 1992 to about 1996, I guess the lake has come a long way since then. Oh p.s there's a pretty nice snowmobile sitting dead nuts in the middle of that lake.
