I was out trolling for Rainbows on Friday, had some good action and to my surprise I landed this rock bass which was just under 14 inches and had a huge belly.

I caught one about that size on light gear near Algonquin a year ago. Thought I had a Smallie on. With out the jumps.

Thanks for sharing...When I was a kid sunfish were what got me hooked on fishing I got one once that must have gone 2lbs in the Kaministiquia River by Old Fort William historical park.
I'm still kicking my self in the bum for eating it thinking back I could a.... should a ...."mounted that Rock Bass"! :mrgreen:

I find most of the larger Rocky Bassianos dig for the depths rather than do the surface thing.

wow that's a big fat rocky ,thanks for posting and sharing i get some rock bass when fishing the detroit river not many big ones though good little scrappers any way!
