Has any fished here before? It's listed on the urban fishing map by MNR. So I tried it out and the pond does look promising. Was able to catch a few catfish and I saw some other people catch a small pike.

Reasons to fish this place:
you might catch some fish

Reasons not to fish this place:
somebody might jack your car, steal your rods, mug you, and throw you into dirty water

Jane and Eglinton is a bad area but to be that afraid you might as well stay in the lawn bowling area of yonge and eglinton area 24 hours haha. I would suggest not to be there at night though.

It's not dangerous, and is a fun place to take a newbie. Plenty of sunfish and catfish, good ole' worm and bobber fishin'.

Dude, are you kidding? LOL...Scarborough has a bad rap for a reason man...go to areas like Malvern, Markham and Sheppard and countless others I can tell you about and you'll see why it has a bad rap. My cousins live around those areas and trust me, their not anything like your area, they are seriously loveed up....Go to the TPS website and read the crime reports from Scarborough...

Queen Street is far from being a Ghetto! It's a looooooooong, extremely diverse strip. The Moss Park/Sherbourne area can be a little dicey, but for the most part, Queen St. is tame.

It has its pockets of vice crime, and that's about it.

I work off Queen west, I've lived in Parkdale, and I now reside at Queen and Broadview, and I've never witnessed any G's blastin' TEC-9s out of rolled-down tinted windows.

LoL@ some of these comments...
I grew up and lived in Downtown T.O, for almost 32 years... I bought a home in north york/scarborough border about 4-5 years ago and I can say that scarbs really isn't that bad..
Its actually a lot nicer then living downtown and there is tonnes of green space..

-Yes there are area's that are questionable.. but that goes with almost every town/city.

The North York/Scarborough border isn't that bad, but there are quite a few areas that are pretty bad man...I spend a lot of time in the Markham and Shepperd area, and a couple of other areas that are pretty sketchy to say the least. I have cousins living there so I have no choice, otherwise I'd never go there. One of my cousin's who's 19 years old recently got robbed at knife point coming out of a Mac's convenience store at like 3 pm. The dude put his knife in his pocket once my cousin complied, giving my cousin the perfect chance to break his nose and teeth...lucky for my cousin the dude put his folding knife away...

Well, well efka, are we not exaggerating a bit here?? And scaring people for no reason?

The place definitely is not greatest, but not nearly as bad as you say.

Hello Everyone well my story on Eglinton Flats fishing havnt bfished there since late 1980s all I caught was than I was lol 10 years old. was with my dad. all we caught was silly goldfish lmao. I was told that some pet shop owner dumped a tank of goldfish in there back then lol.

If u can catch a sunfish, catfish, pike that is a big bonus now.,hats off to you then. For bass fishing we use to go to Hearts Lake Conservation area that hold Rainbow n bass.

There are pockets in the whole GTA area that you don't want to be caught in the wee hours...Malvern is tame from my own observation...All in all I would say, Scarborough is pretty much tamer than it was 10 years ago. But then again, I have lived in rougher areas back home so Anything around here is a sweet deal.

fished there many times, you will catch crappie and sunfish as well as catfish on a regular basis, also the bonus pike here and there. Ive always fished with minnows under a bobber there with success, worms would do the trick too.. the parks are not bad during the day.. lots of families with kids running around.

my 2 cents
