Flash forward 9 years, I met a great girl and as a bonus her father is a die hard angler. Got my license in 2006 and never went once, 2007 got out twice (planning a wedding seems to equal no fishing) both time post wedding. Now 2008 and I've been bit hard. I went ice fishing and froze my feet off for many hours without a bite, and couldn't wait to do it again, tried some open water creek fishing and nadda too much thin surface ice, then went up to visit my parents and slipped away for several hours and tried the little open water on Horseshoe lake again nothing. You'd think that in spite of all this unproductive fishing my enthusiasm would start to wain. Totally opposite, it's making my desire for my first fish of the season that much greater.
My goal on these forums is to get even half as good as my father in law while having a bunch of fun. I'm realizing getting back into it that there is SO much to learn. Considering my prior experience consisted of a worm on a hook and mepps #3's it's taking a ton of reading to get me up to speed.
So far this year my score is Fish 3 (shutouts), Logs 1 (lure), Me 0 (fish)
Forums looks good and I'll likely be picking everyones brains and contributing where I can.

My name is Frank; I enjoy fishing... I am not a hardcore fisher but I have been going fishing since I was a kid. I have fished all over Ontario (boat, shore, ice), and I have done some ocean fishing. Overall I think fishing rocks! Its a great time to get away from the hustle of the city and just chillax.
Thanks for setting up what looks to be a good forum to discuss a great sport!
Frank

I'm Giffin and I found out about this forum from RedFlagDeals and thought it would be perfect for me to join because I've always loved fishing but never really had time to get more into it. Now that I'm graduating from university, I'll finally have more time to go learn to fish properly! I've gone fishing at Rice Lake a few times in the past years and I really enjoyed cooking up the panfish I caught. Here's hoping I'll eventually catch bigger and even tastier fish. Cheers!

My name is Domenic from the Montreal area, looking for a fishing spot not to far from the Quebec/Ontario border where I can take the kids to do some fishing.
