I am going to Georgian Bay next week fishing with my Dad. I am going after Pike! Would love to catch a Walleye as well (never caught one in my life!). I have questions, need answers/tips! Last year I went fishing-- was shut-out....So any tips on Pike fishing in early June eg: How deep are Pike in early June? Bait--anything been working? What about Lake Trout? How deep? Recommended techniques?---(have a 20hp motor). Pickerel? I have never caught one EVER! Tried jigs, worm harnass, etc---never. What about a bait that would work equally well for Pike and Pikerel? Last question: What happens if I hook into a bass while fishing for Pike/ Pickerel next week (out of season?).You would be helping a father son fishing excusion!

last year we cought 2 pike and 1 musky near the town of britt where the magnetawan river opens onto georgian bay,one pike and the musky were cought on a pink jitterbug and the other pike was cought on a #1 mepps black fury.they were all cought off a boat casting at the edge of weed beds in 6 to 12 feet of water just off shore.we also cought some bass on both lures also.i hear red devils and silver spoons work well for pike also.thats my only experience with that area.

I fished Geogian Bay last year around June 28`th and caught a large pike, 20lbs caught it on a Jig head with a mouse soft bait, it was my last cast of the day, because I was still working, so I had to get back to it, so I bounced the bottom in about 10 feet of water and bang!! I was so excited that I didn`t wanna go back to work, but the boss was watching, so I released the fish and then back to painting boat houses! That was the only fish I caught in Georgian bay. Off a dock during my break from painting.

You ask some tuff questions because so much depends on the water temperature and if there is any weed growth. Also Georgian bay is so large that different areas will have different techniques that will work. Find a tackle store near by and ask those questions. That would be your best bet.
