"This fish is too valuable to only be caught once."
I feel the same about all sports fish. In my opinion, the fishing we will enjoy tomorrow depends largely on what we catch and release today!

Definitely wise words to fish by.World re-known sports fishermen Lee Wolfe once said of Atlantic Salmon;
"This fish is too valuable to only be caught once."

It really depands on the species too.
Some are stocked (like lake trout in Simcoe) so, keeping one once and a while is no big deal. Now people who keep Muskie,,well thats a personal preference but I wouldnt do it.
But , in general; I dont keep any myself.

I figure there like a giant filter storing up all the chemicals in our environment.
Big fish eat the smaller fish build up the toxins.
If you have to check to see if it is safe to eat fish from any given lake that tells me something is seriously wrong.
