I've heard the same thing that it's a great place to fish, with lots of different species. Enjoy!

not trying to burst a bubble, but i believe a truck crashed earlier and thousands of gallons of raw sewage was dumped in there because of that. but yup, it probably is ok. im not even positive if its gonna stay there for long since it IS a river.
anyways, i cant help you on tactics because ive never been there. in others reports ive seen walleye and pike i believe, so bring a leader and good line
one thing that works for me almost anywhere is white as soon as it gets dark.
look forward to seeing what youre gonna catch out of there and GOOD LUCK !

The french is a beautiful place to fish. I go every year with the family and we usualy stay at Schells camp or at wholsley bay. The pike fishing is amazing. On the french we usualy use green or yellow jig heads with a minow and back trole for pickeral...If you guys are interested there is the Nepewassi river which is about half and hour to 45min east on highway 64.(town of st charles)awsome bass and also pike fishing (muskey aswell). I was there about and month ago and we used black tube jigs in the weeds and black and orange spinner baits....NO SHITTING YOU I was tired of fishing. The bass killed the tube jigs and the pike smashed my spinner baits... Have fun and enjoy the french she's a beauty.
