Thanks to idesign who won the last banner competition. This year, the competition will take on a new twist... I call it, "winner stays on". That means that the competition will remain open indefinitely, and the winning banner will remain on the site until a new winning entry takes it's place!
The banner must:
1) be 900 Pixels by 150 Pixels
2) use this logo:
3) use this font:
http://www.dafont.co...-are-loved.font (free download)
The winner will have his banner as the official Ontario Fishing Forums Banner, and all the bragging rights that accompany the honour.

Are we allowed to submit multiple banners ?
Question Two:
No new logo contest ?
Question Three:
We can basically submit a NEW banner any time we want ?
Question Four:
If a contest stays open, when will the new banner be selected ? Perhaps once every X# of days/weeks/months ?

2) I'm happy with the current logo, so I'm more interested in a new banner at the moment - That's where I prefer people focus their efforts. If however, you feel that you have a better design idea for the logo, feel free to submit it. If you can come up with something better, then by all means, we'll use it. I make no guarantees that we'll change the logo, so you spend time on it at your own discretion, whereas I do guarantee that the banner will be changed.
Also, you are free to make subtle variations of the logo if wish, like alter the colors to match your banner etc... again use your discretion.
3) Yes.
4) A new banner will be selected when and only when one is submitted that is clearly better than what is currently up. If for example, you submit a banner tonight and it blows the current banner away, I will immediately use it. Your banner will then be the one to beat.

its regarding the "logo". why its even a called logo, since the only place you can see it is in the banner.
i never knew this website even had a logo till this post, i only though it was a part of the banner.

hmmmm....looking around the website a question came into my head.

Well, the logo should be able to stand on it's own for branding purposes. For example, if we change the banner 100 times, the logo stays the same so there is some continuity. Also, I plan on at some point making OFF hats, T-shirts etc to give as prizes to the members, so I would need an official OFF logo to put on those. In general, a logo is always a part of a banner, but a separate component on it's own. Hope that answers your question.

who decides who blows what ?
lol, I was waiting for this question to arise.
I want a banner that everyone looks at and says WOW!
I think that when we see it, we'll all know.
Technically the final decision to make any changes is mine, but I won't change anything unless I know that you guys really like it.

thanks buddy, i like the 2nd one too, the reason i didnt include the logo is because i wanted it to bee simple, too many objects in the small area liek a banner doesnt look good. however it could be done just think the the logo colours should be turned to blue.hey efka, i like your two new banners, especially the middle one but you forgot to include the logo that you so recently found out was a logo

I agree, it would be nice if the web address stood out a little more on the logo for sure.
