Hey everyone,

I went fishing with my brother again, and today is my term to CATCH A PIKE!!! :x we were fishing at the ashbridges park in the morning around 10am. We didn't catch anything, it was still kinda icy. And then we moved to the harbour at Lower Spadina ave and Queens Quay. We fish there for like 15 min, FINALLY!! CAUGHT MY FIRST PIKE in 2009!!! A pretty good size one, around 6-7lb. Didn't fight hard at all.... i was using 6lb test line on a medium action spinning rod with a plastic swim jig. I didn't even have to lose up my drag. Well, i guess it's because the fish was still Frozen and numb hahaha. However i had a hard time to get the fish out of the water because the harbour was too high up from the water level, and i didn't have a net. I got my second bite 10 min after at the same spot. BUT!!! my line GOT CUT OFF by the fish's teeth  . Should have put a wire leader on!!! sigh......Anyways, after all, it was still a great day to fish, warm and sunny.

i avoid fishing with my brother at all costs, he doesn't like fishing that much and only does it to waste time, but when i do go fishing with him he pulls out fish after fish after fish, and he doesn't know much about it so i end up tying on the lures and unhooking the fish, meanwhile i don't catch a thing! so this summer, when i go out fishing in the canoe, i'll take him with me cause i need the help paddling and it's a big canoe, but i will "forget" the other fishing rod :x hopefully i will actually catch something

hahahaha........well...i considered myself a lucky guy to have a brother that shares the same hobby as myself. Although he's only 15, his fishing skill is nearly like a PRO. hahaha. I taught him how to use bait cast reels last year, and he's able to skip the bait under docks already. Soon after he's gonna surpass me. But anyhow, being able to enjoy and share the happiest moment with our family is the BEST. We should be treasure of those moments.

Ahh, thats mean to forget the other rod :x
and How old is your brother? I think this year might be the year to bring him to learn how to tie baits / unhooking fish!
But same problem over here, my brother HATES fishing. My parent's fishing loving genes all went to me and none to my brother :x

my brother is a year and a half younger than me, he know how to unhook the fish, he just doesn't like to, as for the knots, it's a hopeless matter, i taught him before and it ended up in the loss of several of my nice lures
