I'm thinking of picking up a pair of reels from the President Series. One for medium (10-12 lb.) line and one for light (6 lb.) Any thoughts on these reels: good bad or ugly?

Supposed to be awesome! Great reel for the money, and I would have gotten one if it weren't for the wooden handle on the normal one...And I wasn't feeling the red on the XT. I have a Pflueger Supreme at home, and thats run really smoothly over the years..I don't think it will disappoint...Reviews on cabelas / basspro is good..and thats not like one or two reviews...it's a lot of reviews..

i have one,
i like it,
i used it for salmon fishing from pier casting spoons,
cause salmons,
handled good enough for me,
never used anything better so I can't compare.

I think for the money, they are pretty good. Never really heard complaints about them.
only pflueger i have is a baitcaster.... just a cheaper one at 60 bucks if i recall. it did the job, however, i never touch it anymore after getting the curado.

I have convinced two of my friends to purchase these reels. They have not looked back since. The reels have a nice smooth feel to them. I would purchase one if I were looking for a new reel myself. I also recently brought a Pflueger Summit baitcaster on sale at LeBaron. The reel is smoother than the Daiwa and BassPro baitcasters I have and lighter as well.
I would not hesitate to recommend a Pflueger to anyone.

Buy #1... I have it and it's an amazing reel for the money. It's also very smooth as well. I don't like the grip as much, but that's okay. You can buy #2 as well, but I didn't think +20 bucks was worth it.

First reel I bought and it served me well. For the money, you can't go wrong. It's funny, when I was looking for my first reel, all my fishing buddies suggested this one as the "go to reel".
