Does anyone know of any bait shops in the Orangeville area? I'm going to give Island Lake a try after work on Friday and I'd like to pick up some minnows and worms.

Thanks
Mark

The CVC sells minnows & worms on site at Island lake. Be sure to use a leader as its full of little hammer heads.

Good luck..

Thanks for the heads up. I hear that there is perch and crappie in there as well. Have you ever caught anything other than pike?

Of the 4 times I was there last year I caught 2 jumbo perch and some small LMB, everything else was pike. Also lots of weeds during the summer months I only like to fish there in May and Sept/Oct. didn't go this year as I haven't installed a trolling motor on the boat yet.

I know for a fact there is perch and there is some monster LM BASS in there but for Bass I believe it is strictly catch and release. There is also sunfish. I heard of crappie but never caught a crappie there.

As for bait shops I used to go with my father to a house the guy had a minnows in the back of his house and used to sell them I cannot remember the street name and house numbers. You may want to ask the locals they may know.
