my friends think that all the worms that kearney and i use to fish are used to feed the fish and fatten them up...
they also believe the fish are like pets to us...they trust us to feed them and catch them but always let them go... 8)
the size of the fish we have caught lately might make you wonder if their is truth to this,,,,

ps the 7 lb bass is a personal best for me....i almost cried when i had the fish on the shore.... :D

wow you guys are on the mission this year. well done.
i remember the idea of this forum was to share small ponds and it was nonstop reports first year, but now islands reports are coming on weekly basis.
amazing.

and when he is with me i am busy netting his fish and taking photos 8)
hopefully next time i catch this fish..and i will...he will be bigger and kearney will be there to take the photo.
right now i have 48 pics 8'' x 10'' on a wall at my apt. from last year and this year...so far...

anyone fishing the islands....
july 07 and july 08 were tough fishing days as the water levels had increased and there was a lot of silt and mud in the water....tough to see...fish were not where they were last week ...or this time last year...or where i thought they might be....so take polarized glasses with you...be patient...perceverence is a must ...but there are a lot of fat bass in the canals at the islands....

Really nice catch there tandledlines...that bass is a BEAST! Congrats on the PB, it would bring a tear to my eye as wel lol.

I was on the island Sunday 12 July 2009, fishing to the sound of the Honda Indy. Saw a bunch of carp, bass and one pike. They weren't hungry, perhaps you guys just fed them lol, becuase they wouldnt even sniff my bait... I even dropped a senko right on a bass' head.

At least you got out there reefrunner!
I also find the bass at the islands to be verryyyyy picky if not completely lock-jawed.
I have seen them cruise the channels and even find them waiting under docks, etc, but have only managed to get one to take my lure...but spat the hook.

Tangledline and David definitely have it down. I don't know how they do it, but if there ever was a bass tourney on the islands, they would smoke everyone.

Kudos to that...I thought I was an accomplished fisher until I came to the Toronto islands, I guess they figured I wasn't paying enough salary and my baits weren't dipped in chai latte...lol. Just joking around guys, I know I gotta put in my dues. All the respect for David and Tangledline, they surely are T.O. bass masters. But if you want to see a bass wear a senko for a hat, I'm your guy...hahahahha.
