Anyone have recommendations for renting a boat from Scugog or Rice?
Looking for a balance between price and quality/service.
Thanks,

When on Rice, I exclusively rent from Roger at Whispering Pines Cottages in Keene, Ontario (north side of Rice lake, next to Serpent's Mound Provincial park)
Excellent service and respectable price.
14' aluminum with 9.9hp motor all day gas included is $65.
For more info:

Call/email ahead of time cause his boats get booked quickly.
As for Scugog, I have only rented once out of Port Perry Marina and hated it. Service sucked, and the boat had to be returned by a ridiculous time...like 5 or 6... something like that. We missed the prime fishing hours. Was more expensive than usual too.
Really up to you

$65 for a boat & fuel doesn't sound bad at all! especially if they have good service. I remember paying a more then that a decade ago.

Anyone have any experience with Captain's Marina in Bewdley?
They are a little closer.

I rented a pontoon from Captain's 2 years ago for the bass opener. My review may be biased due to the poor fishing and worse weather. Due to the weather, the fishing was less than ideal. They did provide all safety equipment and whatnot. I thought they opened at 9 on the weekend, but cannot recall exactly. They told us that we were only to go so far up the lake. The pontoon was overloaded on one side at one point, ad the deck was submerged for a second. I had no complaints with their service. The pontoon was a little underpowered with a 25 hp motor and 8 people on the boat. BUt the lack of fish soured me that day lol.

Thanks Tim,
I don't plan on renting a pontoon, but seems like they have alright service. I might check them out Saturday.

Dirk, at $100.00 for the day for a pontoon, I'll rent from you all the time!
I rented a pontoon last week from harris boat works on rice lake. the price of $160 (plus gas) was better than most other places. splitting the cost between 5 guys made it affordable.
