Since i didn't have anyone to fish with (wife was at work) I started the day pretty late, decided to sleep in.
Left around 9:45 and got to Rice around 11:00am. I was going to rent a boat but my wife said to wait till Saturday so she can come too. So I decided to go to the secret spot, starts with Go** ' * and ends with ****ing. I've always had pretty good luck here.
There were only three little kids fishing when I arrived, so I sat down and selected my baits wisely.
There were many, many baby bass and perch swimming around the dock. The kids were pulling tiny perch out left right and center.
The Sky was clear calm and HOT! I didn't think any fish was gonna be active. About 30 minutes after I start casting, i felt a tug, then BAM my rod almost fell outta my hands. Instantly loosened the drag and started reeling (I love baitcasters). Fought the fish for about 3-5 minutes before i could bring it in. My first fish of the year at my first outing since bass season began. A healthy 15" SMB between 1.5-2lbs. didn't have a scale.I took a couple pictures with my cell phone but when i got back my memory card crapped out. WTF? Lost all my pictures from my Phone.
anyway there were more nibbles, but no more fish were caught. I was still satisfied though, I almost forgot how hard SMB fight. This one fought like a champ with multiple aerials. If i can somehow recover the pic I'll upload it.

Nice job! I went there once this year with nothing to show at all. All the people around me were targetting sunfish /perch though.
