Yes Lake Aquitane is a Storm Water pond, I can see it from my balcony. There is huge pressure on this pond mostly from the playground area, and I've seen alot of people keep fish out of here (I WOULD NOT KEEP ANYTHING TO EAT)
I've seen some larger carp and lots of catfish and pan-fish, there is bass in there but I haven't seen any lunkers. I've only fished it a couple of times from shore and all I've gotten are small 8inch cats and I was broken off by a carp once. I might actually think about dusting off my old belly-boat this summer and seeing what I can hook into.

Hey Bolcheck, let me know if you're down and want to join me, I can whip out my Zodiac this coming season with an electric trolling motor and we can try and see if we're able to pull out any significant bass out of there! I know there are a few lunkers in there, I've seen them lurking around the shallows during the spawning period a couple of times on the east side of the lake.

Yeah man, a nice white one. I even built a nice trolling setup for it! By the way, you have to start paying me rent for the one you have parked at my house lol!

By checking the new feature on the MNR website, Fish ON-line( thank you reefrunner) I discovered that Lake Aquitaine has been stocked with rainbow trout in the past.
The following are the stocking amounts:
Year #of fish stocked
2003 6943

To further update on the status of this 'lake', the past few times I had went, there were plenty of 'koi' fishes(?) that doesn't seem to bite anything. Aside from that, I only caught a small perch in 3 hr of fishing. You can still definitely see multiple fish rising at night though.

I went there today for family fishing day and it was so crowded and packed.
I didn't catch anything but out of everyone while I was there for the hour or so,2 people caught fish,One guy caught about 5 bullhead catfish(this guy was fishing near a log in the water so it makes sense why he caught lots of fish)and another guy caught about 2 bullhead.

I was in the area so I decided to try here today. I went and people were catching small panfish less than 4 inches steadily, one guy was keeping bullhead catfish even though the water is polluted.
I didn't get anything on my 4" wacky-rigged Yum Dinger so I stopped using it not too long after, had some corn that I used and no bites. My corn was in the fridge for a while, maybe I wasn't getting any bites because it spolied.
These panfish were smaller than what I usually see, is this something normal for Lake Aquitaine. Maybe the condition of the water stunts their growth.

Hmmm! if that's the case then I think the trout are probably long gone by now. Thanks for posting the stocking info.

Madidi, if you have the trasport and the time, go somewhere else for bass, any place 1 hour distance will give you better opportunities than Aquitaine; as some people mention here, this was a good pond to fish but it's been over-fished in the last 2 years, I remember being there in 2010 and catching decent size bass without effort; nowadays is a real challenge; a lot of panfish, yes, but nothing really exciting. I would recommend going a little bit up north like Eugenia lake or closer places like Guelph; but if you don't like the driving just go to the docks by promenade park, I caught 2 bass (between 1 and 2 lb) last week when casting towards the boats.
Hope it helps.

when i was in grade 5 . 2006 i used to hammer fish in that pond. even on the most pressured days i would still be able to produce some sort of decent fish . the rainbows used to be fun but never seen anyone else catch one in there .... alot would die after the fight if u didnt bring it in quick because of the water in that place being so warm and low oxygen levels . that explains where they went

i'm not familiar with lake acquitaine but have learned from my short fishing experience that when they start hunting on top...i always put my spinners and twisters back in my tackle and pull out my jitterbug. i only have 2. very productive for me.
