mr BT I think I saw some Natives with your net on opening day on a lake huron trib in the fish sanctuary....it's a shame that none of them could afford a rod.

it is quite understandable that borrowing somebody a net to land there fish can interrupt ur fishing time. however my first year fishing the piers i did not have a proper net as i dont see the need to rush out and buy everything i can possibly buy for every style of fishing that I attempt as the net I own works for me 95% of the time.

so the second year I managed to get another net as there is not always someone close by to lend one,lol it has a short hand but the basket is large enough for kings i landed all the fish with it i either guided the fish to the rocks or used the latters along the piers to get closer.( lol don't do this alone and hand off the rod to someone else) then one night i took a nap in the car and my buddy stayed out there with the net and well lets just say when i woke up he was in the passenger seat sleeping without the net.

now this year we are back to square one chukle. well thank u to everyone who is kind enough to lend a net or even help land a fish for someone like myself it is much appreciated and I realize a net is  important but not having one isnt going to stop me from fishing.

lol that was a good night........

i still dont know who stole our net  (twas a BIG fish boss)

Is this a yes? :)

Going to pick up a couple J13's tomorrow, think this is the same lure a buddy of mine once kept bragging about, and it seems to be all I read about on here from the lot of you.

I will be there Thursday around 6AM

Eric you prefer Friday morning? Would probably work better for me anyway.

Let me know which of the two days you guys wanna go, if we could get a couple of us together that'd be cool.

If Eric's down for the Friday yeah I'm down

Also, J13's - Went to CT today, after much searching, found one version of the J13, and it was the pike one. Is this the one you guys use?? Left it behind because something tells me this isn't the one.. Seems a lot bigger a lure than I expected too, but if it works, I guess it works. Let me know though so I can pick the right one up asap. Just spent another $50 on 2 sets of ACME Little Cleos, one for Salmon/Trout, the other set for Pike, Bass, Walleye, etc. they look like the ones recommended in this thread.

After the J13 though, I don't think I'll be spending another dime on lures for a while lol

After further research, they seem to prefer Alewife fish, so the silver J13 would be the best bet yes?

They all work. Sometime it's the silver sometimes the blue or green. If you can pick up a couple different ones and try them you won't regret buying them.

Hi all. Fished port credit last nite from 12am to 3am with no luck. Went to bronte and fished till 530 am-no action  , water was to clear and flat however at bronte we noticed massive schools of baitfish in front of the pier-the salmon wont be to far behind

Guys are way off. East end always gets the action first then slowly goes westward.

BTW I was there this morning a nice 5-7 lb brownie was landed

As for j-13 the best prices are at Lebarons and so are the Cleos. All other place are just too expensive.

I am already stocked up.

Take both pieces of his advice.

The rain last night had to have brought in fish in the east. There should be a good push in.

I think it is still too early guys. That wasn't enough rain to bring them in. They need at least one BIG rainy day. Also look for that offshore wind that blows the warm water out and the cool water comes in.

You may have the odd one or two around the shore, as others have said its much too warm. The air needs to be about 18 degrees or cooler before the water temp starts to cool down.
