Ok so I am Planning a 1 day trip to an as of yet undetermined lake of choice. My question is what lakes within reasonable distance(I am in Guelph) should I be looking at? I don't mind a little bit of a drive. I fish for everything and have a small boat(18ft c/w trolling motor, fish finder). I want to have the best possible chances of gettin' a hand full. I know weather, time, moon phases, yada yada all affect your day on the water but all of that aside what is a decent lake to head to??

First off thanks for the posts, I thought about lake simcoe but the shear size of it made me shy away. And have fished Guelph lake with some success. I actually live 5 min from it. But I am looking for some different scenery. What about sparrow lake or go home lake?? Has anyone spent a day or 2 at any of these lakes. I've done some research and they look pretty promising. Just a thought.

I used to do this when we had our fishing boat - Lake Eugenia is pretty good for perch and bass, and has a good public launch. It's fairly close to Guelph, so less time driving and more time fishing.
