I checked Port Hope on this weekend got skunked….still batting zero on the salmon this year so far…Only one person hooked into one and managed to land it believed it was a small Coho… Apparently from conversation with fellow fishermen there last week was the better time.. But it was still good getting out and trying… J
What??? You must have been in the wrong spot.
The ganny is polluted with salmon right now lol.
My 5 friends who went down easily landed 50+ Saturday.

Lots of fish, but there is probably just as many people on weekends.
It's crazy there. I stopped going so I didn't have to deal with the craziness.
I will say though, Float fishing skein in the trench is dynamite.
hint hint

I was there on the morning of the 17th, at about 5 am my buddy landed one, it was his first salmon, and about 30mins later I pulled in a nice sized hen. It seemed to be pretty busy (with fish, not ppl). I met sombody from this board who had just caught his first there as well...
Yeah the fish were rollin all morning guys were hooking into them left right and centre.

waao! that is good to hear. i went there last Wednesday night around 10 PM and fished for about 3 hours. every 5-10 min someone was yelling "fish on." on both sides for the river, there were about 20 people fishing and it was awesome. i went again on saturday afternoon and caught nothing. there were about 200 people fishing on both sides of the river during the day time and i didn't see a single fish coming out of the water. being disappointed, i went again at night (its only 35 min drive for me) and the place was a zoo. never ever in my entire life i have seen so many people fishing in one spot. starting all the way from the lighthouse to the 2nd bridge, people were practically fishing shoulder to shoulder and guess what, no one was catching anything i talked to atleast a dozen people and nobody had a bite. i didn't even bother fishing and just came back.
since it has rained last night, fishing might be better so i will probably go again tonight. i went by my local creek this morning and i see the creek is having salmon flood so might be a better fishing at ganny tonight. keeping my finger crossed.

They certainly will be for the next few weeks, but I would ditch the piers by then. Can't give specific info on spots over the Internet, but you can certainly find a few spots yourself just by going there and investigating...
i figured i just dont wana drive 3.5 hours to get skunked lol lil tight on money right now... anybody care to join me if i go down?
