went friday caught 3 descent ones but lost my entire tackle box in the process!!! yay easily over 600$ worth of stuff gone... if i would of tookin that 5 extra minutes to go get my keys to put it in my car instead of under the trunk id probably still have it... well i almost feel like quitin the whole fishing thing lol... i went from having a complete box with everything and i mean everything to fish anywhere for any fish to a small white plano box with a couple spinners and some lil white jigs and hook and split shots... theres a kick in the face lol... oh well lifes a bitch ! shot in the dark but the names francois brazeau both my liscences are in the box (quebec/ontario) if anyone hears about it i will gladly pay them a couple 100 bucks to get my stuff back... by the way i was caching them ligitly with a bright pink mepps spinner with a red bucktail single gamakatsu hook on the back ( tied it myself) all 3 hooked in the upper right lip the people i was with couldn't believe it lol they were using roe and small white tubs did int even get a nibble... so pink spinners are working.... the next day someone told us the river was closed to fishing so we went to the mouth god was that ever a depressing scene! lol was at least 40 people siting there with there rods propped up freezing in the wind lol only 1 of them caught something a cording to a guy a spoke to that was there since 5 a clock in the morning and en other personne got a hook on but snapped the line,.. noway id be able to sit there so said fak it went home with a broken heart and a couple nice pictures...

Fish-on. Sorry to here about yur tackle, I had the same thing happen to me, but out of my own stupidity. Packed my van an forgot it on the side on the ground, backed up an drove just past it. Got to the other side of the pier an I see the darn thing sitting there. Lol. Go back to the other side an it was gone. I was so pissed.

Well I hope someone sees this thread an you get yur stuff back.

Anyways I wanted to say that I was there in Port Hope Saturday an I seen about five caught an know about more. I lost two, didn't have the hook set good enough. I'm now 0/11. Worst it has ever been for me. Maybe better this weekend.

yep should of done it... here is my story....

so we finally arrive to sylvan glen on friday night at bout 7:30 at night starting to get dark figured id throw in a couple casts.. boom catch 1 on second cast so told my fellows the bite was on had a great night caught a few more gloated about it lol and i guess thats when karma started to settle in! we figured wed pitch a tent for the night save a bit of money so evryone goes to bed i decide to do a bit of night fishing since i snore and well people get pissed at me haha catch en other nice 15 pounder so with happy thoughts i went to bed ... realizing my spot in the tent was full of roots! so as uncomfortable that is still managed to get a couple hours sleep before sun started coming so i get up trye to wake up my cuzin he wont budg and neither will my fishing buddy... fine so i grab my rod and tackle box and decide to go on a lil expedition.. im not cacthing anything! at all... so i figured they must of moved up in the deeper pools by that time its geting hoter outside and well i didint realy need to bring my big tackle box with me so i go to the car to unload and well i didint have my keys and well didint wana go back into the tent and start looking for them so i decided to put the box and my grand fathers fishing coat/vest what ever underneath my trunk behind the wheels( big mistake lol) so i head off for en unseccesfull fish... to some guy telling me the river was closed and that wasent alowed fishing alright my bad didint know someone told me it was open till mid october! so ok go back to the bank to get my lil plano box with some flys roe and spinners and headed towards the parking lot to pack up and surprise my car was gone! ok not a big deal my girlfriend must of found the keys and decided tog o to tim hortons with the boys since they didint feel like looking for me ok not a big deal i figured they must of saw the box and coat and loaded it up so get in the car and off to the mouth where the fishing was still open! once we get there well depressing scene of cours haha but figured it could be worth it to throw some line out maybe get lucky go to get my stuff and HEY WHERES MY TACKLE BOX! --- yep they didint load it and i didint see it when i got in the car so yes they drove off leaving my most prized posetion on the ground in the middle of the parking lot!.... yay for me i get realy pist at this point! so we go back to sylvan glen to see that evrything is gone so said fak it went home and drank a 26er of Sailer Jerrys and a micky of appleton estate.... and a few beers... and told myself id never fish again.... lol and yet today i brought my son fly fishing in a creek neerby for some browns and shiners with whats left of my tackle some flys , a couple panther martins and mepps, some small grubs and tubs, small sinker heads and roe hooks, not to mention split shots! i wonder if im gonna want to spend money on buying new gear for next year ... guess time will tell...

Atleast you didn't get caught by a C.O. because that could've cost you even more money. You should really take a look at the regulations to every body of water you are fishing. Just Sayin'. Im not trying to be a prick or anything. My cousin and I went into port hope to fish on sunday and saw a few guys fishing well past the CNRail Bridge where the cut off is after Sept. 30th We gave them a stern warning instead of calling the MNR they packed it up and left because they simply didn't know any better.

Back in 2009 I remember these dudes fishing just above the CNR a day before trout opener. They would get warnings from people passing by, but they would ignore and keep fishing. Until the CO's actually came of course  They said they were from Ottawa, but it didn't end too well. Don't know how much equipment they got taken away..

yeah well unlike other idiots i listen to people lol and this time it payed off cuz man yeah im pissed cuz i lost my box but man they could of tooken allot more stuff like my rods and well a hefty fine of cours... i guess karma decided to be somewhat lenient with me haha besides i never keep fish .. as funny as it is im alergic to it .. cant even have a nice tasty fork of it before i start puking my face off and feeling like shiet... besides nothing better then seeing a nice fish swim away knowing you gave it a chance to live that much longer hehe either way yeah i drove 8 hours to fish for a couple hours and to loose my gear but man they put up a real fight! first time i go for salmon man you should of seen my face when i got my first fish on was so surprised! lol kid in a candy store hehe

Just go back to sylvan in the spring time.. its infact a zoo there when all the animals come out from hibernation LoL Best bet to go a week after the spring opener to avoid large crowds. But most rivers are closed from the CNRail or Highway 401 til then... just read the regulations and you will get a good idea of what rivers will have trout in them.

Why is the water so low? I was there today and was quite dissapointed stayed for about an hour, casted some little cleos and some other stuff into the lake while my brother played with some roe. So we went to a secret place and got few resident bows, saw a couple nice ones very spookey, o well still early!
