What are some surefire ways to decipher between a brown and atlantic?
If you catch a brown that is a deep golden colour and contains red spots, it's obvious, but what if those obvious signs are missing?
Here is a pic of a brown I caught last year. One site said that atlantics have smaller mouths, and that a straight line drawn from the back of their eye will not touch the mouth. They also said the caudal peduncle is narrower on atlantics. Going by those methods, mine would be an atlantic, not a brown. There is orange on the adipose fin, which is how I deemed it a brown.
