What are some surefire ways to decipher between a brown and atlantic?

If you catch a brown that is a deep golden colour and contains red spots, it's obvious, but what if those obvious signs are missing?

Here is a pic of a brown I caught last year. One site said that atlantics have smaller mouths, and that a straight line drawn from the back of their eye will not touch the mouth. They also said the caudal peduncle is narrower on atlantics. Going by those methods, mine would be an atlantic, not a brown. There is orange on the adipose fin, which is how I deemed it a brown.

Vomerine teeth

Small and arranged in a single row along a raised shaft on the roof of the mouth. = Salmon

Well developed and arranged in zig-zag rows along a raised shaft on the roof of the mouth. = brown trout

Lol, are you sure that"s not the adult version of the salmotrutta you catch the parr of in the headwaters of some rivers out east? :)

Alfie.

To clarify: I posted the pic of my trout to disprove the other site's "surefire" brown vs. atlantic differentiation method, not to ask whether it is an atlantic or not.
