Started using a GT Knot this season, only had to tie it once because it's still going strong after 70 Kings landed. Stupid easy to tie the second time, practice the first time at home.

Used to use an Albright knot, and they work really well but finicky to get right.

for me reeling a swivel into my rod tip is difinately no good if you get a chip in the insert you will damage line potentially causing the loss of a PB. if your swivel is to large to fit in guides then you have this long line out when you cast resulting in less acurracy and distance.why "knot" use a small barrel swivel? quick, and easy

EXCELLENT EXCELLENT EXCELLENT observation/adivce!
In "Everyday Fishing"... none of us are perfect.
Maintaining the best usage of our EXSPENSIVE EQUIPMENT is certainly important to me.
More so, than catching an extra fish or 2.
Once you have "Notched or Chipped" the tip, well .... FRIG!
Most of us are not Guide Replacement experts ... and why neccessarily put yourself in that situation anyway.
I very much understand the importance of presentation - Especially in the GIN CLEAR late fall or Winter months, when those trout are particuliarly finicky.
However, if you have a 3'+ leader .... why use the micro swivel anyway? (Not that those who do - is anything wrong)
I learned through "Ruining my tips" many moons ago to stick with slightly larger swivels and seem to do fine.
Just a shared opinion.

I guess it depends on the bait, whether to have a swivel or not. The last thing you want is line twist because your bait has been swirling in the water.
