Weeds stuck to the line make the fight more challenging.

Fishing for salmon has been pretty good last few days. I think I lost more than I could count. The river was very muddy due to the rain the night before, but the fish were aggressive and took lures slowly swung across the estuary. One of the fish took me out into the lake during the fight surprisingly. Well, not really surprisingly because I was using 8lb test. The lure in the picture is a Pike patterned J-13 if you want to know. Lots of other similar lures worked as well in the muddy water.

Also, if you know the spot don't name it!
I had one of the fish run into a poachers line, so they had to net it and I pretty much had to let them keep it. Totally not cool lol, good fishing though...Even managed to almost get a few at the pier today!

Bah whaa haaa haaaa, how wrong is it that I know exactly which sandbar that is, lulz.

Atleast one other person has learned that casting for mud sharks is still alive at the mouths instead of joining the loogan horde up river. Kudos sir.

P.S. It's Thinfish time.

I have found the salmon are actually biting the past few days, fishing has been good. I usually don’t enjoy the salmon fishing up river because they don’t readily take the roe on my pin, but the last few days they have been readily accepting anything from single eggs to bunches of 5 or more.

Hey nice pics you don't have to tell me the spot but I am just wondering if this is in Ontario and what lake, and are you fishing the mouth of the river? the fish still seem silver and not darker like the ones I have been catching.

It's certainly Lake Ontario in the picture ^_^ It's also definitely the mouth of a river. The fish took me out from the estuary giving me a chance to take a pic without revealing the location. I'm almost certain the fish came in overnight and it's also a female which explains the fresh look.
