Awesome document.
I know a group of people down that way that are NOT going to like this being up here though. Those creeks are generally untapped resources with mainly a local fishing crowd.
It is a different story fishing those creeks. Usually dealing with steep clay banks and a LOT of thick brush to get to good runs. Tough fishing.
Thanks for posting, nice read.

Its the information era... if it was this easy for me to find on google search its going to be just as easy for anybody else. Wasn't the sole purpose of these documents meant to educate people? If they are going to get mad for me posting this, they should be even more pissed off at the people who published this report online.

Yah I agree,
The info is out there, you didn't do anything wrong.
I'm just saying that the locals are proud of their hidden gem streams, and a lot of people do tireless work keeping them clean.
Everyone is worried about their home creeks turning into shoulder to shoulder "GTA" type of creeks.
The one thing is, if you get skunked down there, you don't always wanna go back right away, cause it can be miserable navigating some remote stretches. TOUGH...

Im all about the adventure and the hike. Keeps me fit if you can say that LoL I totally agree with you though I wouldn't want a bunch of loud mouthed litterers fishing around me on my home streams If I can even call any of them one of them because I haven't fished them all being so virgin to this beautiful sport. Being online and seeing all the different views has definately opened my eyes on what is acceptable and unacceptable. You can't make everyone happy but you can do the best you can to preserve our fisheries and their environments. I never really cared so much until i started steelheading but I always try to keep up with the regulations long before that. Rules were made for a reason You break them you pay the price and you are bound to get caught one of these days.. Now I am just rambling LoL A friend of mine accidently snagged a chinney over the wknd in the belly while floatfishing and it was a hen he asked me if I wanted to keep it for the roe.. I didn't know it was snagged til i saw the gash in the belly. I said if she's snagged let her go, Its not right and I don't feel good about it. Nobody else would have known we were going to keep a fish unlawfully caught but still you would have that guilty conscious of illegal obtaining a fish just for the sole purpose of using its roe to catch more fish.

Yeah, but those which can handle wild conditions have passed down their genes while the stocked ones adapted to an aquaculture environment have died off.

Also, to my knowledge (Please someone correct me if I'm wrong) as per the guidlines this year, trout season is extended from the Quance dam in Delhi going south. I'm really hoping so as my buddies and I already have a trip planned out in Dec lol.
Nobody is ever happy when a stretch of their own personal heaven is made public but its only a matter of time anyway and most people still prefer Whiteman's Creek anyway (no idea why tho lol). I was up fishing Bronte Sat Sept 16th and struck a conversation up with a fellow fisherman and he mentions my exact sweet spot and it blew both our minds that A) someone else knows of the Creek someone else knows the name of the town and C) we haven't bumped into eachother lol.

I ONLY fish Big Creek trout open as every year it produces some very nice fish, the pic is one of the two Brown's I caught this years open.

I'll protect my spot before I protect my sin number lol..
We saw a Brown moving in with the Salmon and he brought up the town, trib and even a hole we like to stop at before I even mentioned/knowledged anything about it.. Just a small world sometimes and if the person I'm chatting with seems decent and respectful of nature and the wildlife in it, I don't mind sharing info.

Exactly, nobody learns everything on their own. Everybody gets a leg up at some point. i learned spots on Bronte, Maitland and Saugeen on my own. But I was shown all of the spots I know on Big Creek, I guarantee I would never have found those spots unless I put alot of time into hiking that area.

I wouldn't have even known about Big Creek if it wasn't for my cousin, his dad used to take him there when he was younger. We usually hit it about 5 or 6 times a year and I head up another 2 or 3 myself. More often then not its catch and release,I have a limit of how many fish I can have in my freezer before I bring some home and for Brown's its 1 nice one or 2 decent size ones ( cooked on BBQ planks ) and if I'm at my freezer limit its all catch and release.
I was up at Bronte today, awesome day landing 2 35"+ female Salmon.. My soul intention of todays trip was to look for Browns and Steelie's (early I know).. I' only saw one of each so big boys it was lol.. 1 female was light in colour and obviously milked of her eggs and the other was nice and plump, both were kissed and set free without milking.

Good call Thangza. Thanks for the post. I'm really interested in trying out those streams now as a life long trout fisher. I hope I can get down there this fall.No garbage will be left behind And all fish will be released except maybe oneIm all about the adventure and the hike.
