Ok, so I have seem to have racked up more spinners then anything else in my tackle arsenal. Largely because of hearing everyone rave about how effective they are. My prob is though I have no idea how to use it effectively. I know theoretically i should be casting 45-60 degrees upstream right?and retrieving at a good speed? Not insanely fast but faster then other lure types. Thats great in theory but I fish largely petro and and credit. I see in videos ppl casting them a fair way out on much larger, well wider rivers. Prolly the width of the humber. But at credit and petro i don't have the freedom of that, so what are effective ways of using spinners in tighter spots? Also using size 1-3 spinners foro trout, should i be putting some weight on the line for casting/depth?
Cheers in advance guys

When I first starting fishing the spring and fall season I tried using spinners at petro, all I got was snagged fish. I find that Bronte is too small for using hardware like that, sure it can be used effectively but since the river is so small, low and packed the chances of snagging is too high IMO. I havent fished Credit too much but it is much bigger than Bronte so I dont see you running into that problem. Sizes 1-3 are good, use #1 for smaller pools and #3 for the bigger ones. Just try to retrieve is as slow as possible with the blade still spinning and you should be good.

I do suggest some weight and when you are reeling in, you can adjust the depth of the lure by raising or lowering your rod tip.

Best Spinners on the Market!
ps: In deeper pools or bigger water dont be afraid to use #4 or #5.
A decent size trout will hit the BIG HARDWARE as well!
Lately, the DARK COLOURS have been producing for me.
Not the bright Neon Greens, Yellows, Pinks
