Spent the afternoon making some homemade boilies today... Trying to get ahead for the spring carp season...

The recipe I've got smoothed out

500g base mix (equal parts semolina flour, soy flour, and corn meal)
6 large eggs
3 tbls oil (I use corn oil)
2 tbls flavor ( this varies depending on strength)
Powder dye

If you use liquid dye just ad a bit extra base mix

Mix dry ingredients
Mix wet ingredients
Then ad wet to dry and mix

Then I put a bit of oil on my hands... Then work the dough with your hands until consistent...

Then you roll sausages...


Then place sausages on rolling table


Roll em




Then boil em till they float... 2-3 minutes


Then youll want to strain them and spread them out to dry...


I let em dry around an hour or 2...

Then place the boilies in freeze bags... Label what flavor they are... And freeze em...

I'm looking to break 40lbs thus year HC...

I've got 2 just over 36lbs... And I've seen 40s in my swims...

So this year I'm making a big push with loads of boilies...

i dont carp fish much but we always use fresh corn on hair rigs......chum the snot out of them too.

Yup... Corn is one of tge best baits to get a lot of bites...

But I get sick of lots if bites because it usually means lots of smaller carp... 25lb and under... These smaller fish are more aggressive... So they take the bait before the bigger...smarter...slower moving ones get a chance to...

I've been testing this for a couple years now... My average size of fish goes up about 5lbs if I use bigger baits...like boilies... My best year for big average carp I was using a snowman set up with a 20mm boilie and 16mm pop up... That year I placed 3rd in the Carp Anglers Group big four tournament...

But when going to bigger baits... Your number of fish per day takes a nose dive...

i cant believe how consistantly those carp were surface feeding...

ive never seen that in open water before... only in big mats of weeds...

sweet video, I watched that one 4 or 5 times in a row last year and the result was quite a few unsuccessful outings lol. I especially like the parts where he dips his reel into the water and lets it rip.
