Now admittedly there are many among us who have the luxury of spending untold days on the water to hone their skills (some have this "luxury" thrust upon us). Consequently, having acquired the secrets of alchemical transmutation from base metal to CHROME, you are likely far more qualified and skilled an angler than I and, perhaps, others here.

Be that as it may--and given that Oncorhynchus mykiss is a glutton, that is, nothing short of voracious, feeding on anything and everything (a little on the dumb side too it could be said)--how is it that the sure-fire pattern, technique, presentation, temperature + water condition etc., etc., etc. will not produce...NO WAY, NO HOW, NO NEVER???

The short of it gentlemen--a proposition for your consideration, deliberation, and perhaps vexatious recall:
What expert-guaranteed-to-produce-vicious-chrome, pattern or lure has, in your capable hands absolutely failed to produce that lovely head-shake from an angry Mykiss??

My quarry has turned up its nose many times to the offer below (never have I caught a steelhead on this "sure-fire" pattern). Just leaves me rather giddy thinking about that moment when it WILL turn that fish's head......

caught few fish on this fly, it's better when tied as a jig, but still cannot beat the "steelhead special" fly.
