Hi guys,
I am getting impatient waiting for Walleye or Bass season to start so I decided to go to local pond to try fishing for carp since the weather has been so great lately. I had caught a carp on a worm before, however, the bait shop is closed until season I think. I have some can corn and some bread as well. I hear that both of these can be used as bait to catch carp. I was wondering which is the best bait to catch carp? Bread or Corn? Is there a specific preference? Also how do you hook the corn and bread, will a normal fish hook that you use for bass work? Won't the corn fall off if I cast too hard? Any carp fishing tips would be greatly appreciated as well.
Thanks!

check out "hair rigs" on youtube...that will show you how to tie up and how to put the bait on...
canned corn is a great year round bait that carp will readily take... right now 1-3 pieces of can corn should get you a bite... but be patient... you have to put your bait in...and let the carp find it...

I always used to use just worms until I heard corn worked real well and switched to strictly corn. Now I use a worm and corn hybrid.. Hook of worm and then a piece of corn, hook of worm and then piece of corn.. I usually have 3 or 4 pieces of corn on with the worm when finished threading. I've recently also been putting a tbls of cayenne or chili powder in with my corn and mix it before using, apparently carp like sweet and heat lol.

tinned spam / luncheon meat is another really good bait that may be worth trying
