Hello to all fishing brothers and sisters!
Thats my second year in Toronto and I'm trying to find a descent spot for fishing(catch and realease only, I just like the fun) but no luck except a couple of fish.
Last summer I tried Musselman's Lake and i cougth only a small bass,
Centre Island nothing, High Park nothing,
Claireville Conservation Area two Carp,
Proffesor's Lake nothing, Aquitaine Lake nothing, Old Mill nothing.
This year I tried Proffesor's Lake and Aquitaine Lake and again no luck!
Today i went to Heart Lake considering that i can rent a small boat but guess what...is was closed so i tried from shore NOTHING not even a bite!
I'm using Spinnerbaits, Soft Baits and Hard Baits and I'm thinking of quitting, I'm so disappointed guys... <_<
Any advice will be more than welcome!

P.S. Forgive my english

based on what you stated...you're actually doing better than me. although my gear is set up for pike but i've caught a small bass with it. i caught 3 pikes, a small bass and a turtle. btw. the turtle wasn't hooked. I was reeling it in and thought it was hooked only to see that it just wouldn't let go of my yellow twister trailer on my spoon.

For me at least, time of day makes a HUGE difference. There could be nothing from 5pm-8pm and then all of a sudden I'll start catching fish without changing a thing. Make sure you're fishing early mornings and cool evenings?

I also believe fishing at current time do help with the rate of fish being caught. And for shore fishing even the more since you can go out and look for the fish itself. Early morning when fish are in the shallows for feeding, but remember not to get to close to the shoreline, since fish spook easily. Since this happened to be on a good size largemouth. I went down to a spot to check if there where fish and I could see this bass dart away as soon as it saw my shadow and I just stood there kicking my self.

This has happened to me as well! Mostly with carp though :(.

Also, I can attest to the fact that the fish will move shallow in the morning and afternoon. At my friend's cottage, early in the morning and in the evening, there are cruising bass you can see from shore. You can't see any of them during the day.

Again, I noticed this phenomenon in Algonquin Provincial Park.

Like ALN said, fish move shallow in the morning and evening.
