yes yet another GTA fishing fan.
I followed a link back to OFF from another fishing forum & I am really happy about that. Lots of current info & after reading many posts on the forum here I figured I should sign up.
Going on my 4th year of fishing & I really do love the sport. So far my favorite fishing trips have been a week to two in length in and around southern Ont.
A day out here & there is perfect around the GTA. It's time for me to try other spots as I'm finding Toronto Island is getting more & more crowded with each year passing. Also not enjoying being balls to ass on the over crowded fairy. ( some one should hand out soap to some of the people that are a little ripe, lol)
Well, Fish on !

Hey man, welcome! I tried the island today and it was not busy at all. Guess it all depends on when you go there.

Odd the island was quiet for such a warm sunny weekend. My favorite time there is Oct. & Nov. on those rainy days. Ghost town mostly then.
I went to the Rouge River north of the Zoo today but it's more like an open sewer. It was not very deep at all, no vegetation in it, but I counted around 30 minnows & 3 beer bottles. It was the color of urine to top it off, what a disappointment.
There was about a dozen people wandering about over the course of 4 hours that I saw but not fishing. I ended up following trails and hiked up about 500 feet to look down on the river & that was impressive. It was quite the drop from where I stood, dangerously steep. There is a man made pond just before the zoo & I did see 3 guys down there, 1 fishing. Again that looked more like a large open sewer to me, but dark muddy water. I took pics with the camera on my little phone but they are all quite blurry, camera goes in with tackle next time.
I was looking at all the signs posted on my little exploration and saw 2 that were next to each other. One read, "Rouge River, Enjoy your parkland" & the other one was a large " No Trespassing". So I guess I was to stand at the fence with my face pressed to it and look at the parkland, lol.
I still had a great time out, just wish I had a line in the water. Hope Sundays exploration of another part of the river will be more of a fishing trip. Still stoked about getting more familiar with Urban Fishing.
