Between the non sense with pedro and now this jim/nado racist crap...where is the talk about fish???philosophy crap?
i am disgusted by what has become of this forum over the last year.
We just assisted in running two kids fishing events for 800 children.
fish and kids and none of the philosophical crap going on here.
Hammercarp is a true ambassador to the sport of fishing in Ontario (outside of these bowfishing threads)
these threads have brought out the ultimate ugliness of man and i can not have this ruin fishing for me.
sorry and thank you for the past...the present here is an utter nightmare and i will not participate with it anymore.

Tangled I attended Saturday with my little cousin. He loved it. Why should the good people leave? You are what Urban fishing represents, all of your work on helping the Gone Fish'n motion is greatly appreciated here even though we do not always show it. I hope you choose to stay, and if not I hope you could take the time to pm me if you are joining another forum. No words can truly describe the loss that the forums witnessed here. I would have internet again till around 4 o clock so please check again around that time.
Hammercarp and Jim see what your dam childish things are doing. I hope you both consider the effect this is having the forums.

Another couple of pages and we're going to have a new Ayn Rand novel here, look out Atlas Shrugged!
Who is John from CRAA?
John is President of the Credit River Angling Association--nice guy, hard worker.

I will try to respond as generously as possible, in a manner, it should be said, that supports in principle, Tangle's concerns:
"Efka i am deleting this forum from my favourites and will not be posting or foloowing this "forum" anymore."
You gotta do what you gotta do--it should be noted however, we do not have to tolerate harassment and bullying, and lacking any direction or proactive administration it falls to us to intervene and ensure this forum remains positive (a bit of self-policing). At least we have an option to not participate in the fray and perhaps pm the offending individuals to tone down their rhetoric. Your decision, though I understand and am sympathetic to its sentiment, is the least worthy of a range of possible responses. Your posts are always engaging and the mentoring work you do is invaluable--the focus should be on a possible future, a future which is far more important than the bickering of a few.
"Between the non sense with pedro and now this jim/nado racist crap...where is the talk about fish???philosophy crap?"
Again, if it is racist at worse or verbal abuse at least, then it falls on administration to be guided by the policy and "terms of use" set out when we subscribe. To be fair many here post wonderful reports and pictures of their fishing adventures (I'm always impressed), and I hope that I have done my part here to spin a decent story or two.
"We just assisted in running two kids fishing events for 800 children."
THIS is what it's about--leaving a legacy for our children, mentoring proper methods, courtesy, wonder...
"fish and kids and none of the philosophical crap going on here."
I take this a little personally (fully aware that I have said NOT to take all things too personally)--I will NEVER be a proponent of separating intellectual pursuits from practical ones (both offer modes of learning). Fishing and philosophy are NOT mutually exclusive...(that's my bitch sorry)...
As far as what has been going on re: carp, I don't recognize this as what distinguishes a humanist project or philosophy.
"Hammercarp is a true ambassador to the sport of fishing in Ontario (outside of these bowfishing threads)"
This may be the case--but for those of us who don't often cross paths with him here, we can only go on the evidence of what is posted. As an "ambassador" you have fiduciary responsibilities, take the high road, educate, and resist being baited by those who merely seek a platform for their own disdain etc. He is not without fault or responsibility...
"these threads have brought out the ultimate ugliness of man and i can not have this ruin fishing for me."
Though I haven't taken away anything worthy of consideration from this thread (and yes it has been ugly) in no way does is impede my joy and celebration of fishing. One may also opt not to join this thread and respond only to those with a positive outlook...as you imply, "just fishing please..."
No more from me re: this thread...
Best
