Over 150,000 lbs taken out of the lake in two days. Cost to the Ministry in the US......$0! It is pointless to put taxpayer money and donations towards fighting the Common Carp problem, the solution? Tournaments! Lake Michigan will benefit greatly from this.
Do you know what they did with the fish? Just curious!

The Great Lakes Bow Fishing Championship is held out of Caseville Michigan on Saginaw Bay. Saginaw Bay is part of Lake Huron not Lake Michigan. You can't even get the Great Lakes right. What a wonderful source of disinformation this post is. Just like all the rest of the kill the carp nonsense you have come up with.

There are lots of tournaments in the US that regularly harvest Common Carp and use them as fertilizer. It is a great way of controlling the population without using resources. Native fish benefit greatly from these tournaments. What alot of the Carp enthusiasts dont realize is that there are so many species that benefit from such actions. Ducks in particular depend on efforts like this to survive.
Hammercarp and Mikeh you guys are both brick walls and will never change your old timer opinion no matter what facts are thrown at you so please, keep the encouraging comments coming! My agenda is to benefit the fishery, whats yours? To benefit your ability to park, walk 10 feet, cast out your line and sit in your chair? I love carp fishing as much as the next guy but the fishery, plant life and birds are more important to me than my own personal gain.

To me the carp in the picture I posted are a positive picture. For every harvested carp one more duck, pike and plant species go on. Sacrifice is for the greater good.
Think of it this way. Every time you release a carp, you threaten a native species...to each his own i guess.

FOR THOSE WHO CAN'T READ THE PDF. (effective april 1st)
open for the entire year
spear or bow and arrow
ALL WATERS except: Designated Trout Lakes and Designated Trout Streams.
SPECIES-bowfin, bullheads, burbot, carp, catfish, cisco (lake herring), drum, gizzard shad, goldfish, grass carp, longnose gar, smelt, **suckers, lake whitefish **The term suckers refers to: suckers (longnose, white, northern hog, spotted), redhorse (silver, golden, black, greater, shorthead), buffalo (bigmouth, black), lake chubsucker, and quillback carpsucker.
If you look in the bottom left corner of the photo you will see the head of a good sized gar. Co lateral damage I guess. Gotta wonder what else is buried in there. So much for your one dead carp eqautiion. Kinda screws that up.

carp are very simular in fishing experience as bonefish.....they are often refer to as the freshwater bonefish.
the desire to see carp killed off in the manner in which you have posted pics is well... quite disturbing...i believe promoting this kind of killing is something PETA would be interested in.
Nado is your address up to date on your profile if the police come knocking on your door?
killing carp in such a manner is no differnt than torturing kittens to the PETA organization..
my opinion has not mattered.....when they begin investigating you for promoting animal cruelty we will see if your opinion matters.
did a recent serial killer not get his start the same way???
i find these carp killing promotional material upseting and i feel for the safety of our local carp
PETA will be in touch Nado.

ask all the trout and salmon anglers how they would feel if there were people bow fishing their streams and rivers during spawning seasons and killing the trout or salmon and then dumping the trout in a dumpster to use as fertilizer.

All jokes aside, the ongoing carp debate on this forum has been relatively civil. Very few debates have that kind of longevity on forums. They usually deteriorate into the gutter quite quickly. I think that speaks volumes about this forum's membership, that by and large it's a respectful bunch of anglers.
Tangled you're way out of line. No need to stoop to callous personal attacks on forum members. Are you a vegan? If not, do you have any idea how much cows suffer in commercial dairy and meat operations? Cows are mammals. They suffer horribly for years, their entire lives, and unnecessarily, so that humans can consume their milk and flesh, which are both non-essential parts of our diet, and give us wonderful side effects like acne, crohn's, IBS, and BO.
A carp is a fish, not a mammal, and they won't live for very long after being speared. A part of fishing is that fish endure pain. When you catch a fish and it's swallowed your hook or jig, you're reeling it in by its organs. Then likely cutting the line, and letting it try to live on with a hook or jig embedded in its organs. It's part of the sport.
This is Ontario Fishing Forums. Spearing is a part of fishing. Large harvests are a part of fishing. Anyone is free to post bowfishing and spearing reports, whether they be pike, carp, or suckers, as long as they are within the legal season for such angling methods.
Your personal attacks on NADO are unwarranted and more vulgar than any bowfishing post could ever be. I hope you take a moment to reflect on your post and apologize to NADO, though after saying something like that to him, I am not sure how he could accept an apology?

there is no point in apologizing. if someone be leaves in something they have the right to defend them self s, just as NADO does with his excuses to kill every carp he can see. i don't be leave in war, for any reason, that's my belief's, so there for i would not support anyone or anything that supports war efforts. "support out troops" F-That! they singed up for it, they can go kill them self's for what they beleave. so to ask someone who has alot of passion in what they be leave, to "re nag" there frustrations and anger, is like telling some they should say sorry for be leaving that god is real, or there is a heaven or hell.

be leave in our self, and never let anyone try to change your belief's, no matter what. that's what makes us individuals,
oh and i am against "bow" fishing carp.... and the people that do it. i wont attack someone based on who they are, but only on what they do.

killing any living thing... mammal or bird or fish just to kill it because you believe it doesn't have a place in the local eco system goes against many religious beliefs and ethics.
It is illegal to kill birds and mamals because people do not like them in their back yards....you kill the raccoon in your back yard or the raven for eating plants in your garden and your in trouble with the law.
you own your backyard and are not allowed to make these choices so what gives any one here the power to decide what should be killed in our public bodies of water???
your are advocating killing living things only to waste their carcasses..this is against the law specifically with fish and the MNR regs.
i am aware that the MNR is monitoring this forum....i email to an enforcement officer daily on the progress of the kids programs i am working on.
the MNR monitor these forums just like the police do child pornography sites.
when you guys start posting pics of trout and salmon that you catch and the MNR see where your fishing i will bet they will be checking out your fishing practices after your promotion of killing and wasting fish.
grow up!......kids with mental problems go around killing and wasting living creatures for fun.....your not a kid....you do not have mental problems....you have ethical problems that you need to work on.

Well I guess that you are qualified to make that judgement about tangledline after your mindless, ill thought out schemes, personal attacks, off topic posts, spreading mis information, , an F - in geography and whining about the mods, the gov't , angling groups, and anybody else that does not go along with your twisted views on recreational fishing. Pretty much a case of the pot calling the kettle black I think. No brainer indeed. After reading the way Tangled was writing about the Harborfront fishing ban and the way he has been writing about the Carp debate it is a no brainer that he is mentally unstable. Not the type of person that deserves having his posts taken seriously.
