It can get quite expensive really quickly .
The Saugeen River ... Caught many fish here over the years and also have been sent home without any fish .
One time on November 21 st. we set out for the Saugeen for the weekend , after fighting our way through a forever lasting snow squall ... we arrived at the river , only to be sent packing again by the intense winds blowing up river . The snow was thick , my float was so caked in ice it wouldn't float anymore and that wind froze everything that got wet .... waders , reels and skin .
We opted on forgeting about fishing that day and spent the afternoon swapping stories and having a drink or four . We awoke bright and early to hit the river at dawn ... lol... we couldn't open the trailer door . Snow was drifted solid up against the door and we had to spend a little extra time to eventually push the door open ... then to get the cars out and ..... well we ended up on the river a bit late , the sun was shining and one of us ( not me ) caught a Steelhead hen , just one ... and then we went home ... the end.
The moral of this story is ... although we set out to slay the river and hook alot of Steelhead , we didn't , but we were together and had a blast doing it . There will be days when nothing goes right ... but , there will always be days you will shine . Let's hit the Saugeen as friends unseen , fish ? maybe - maybe not ... we'll have an educational day for all and it will be memorable ... yes , I think it will .

Nice write up there NOTTA, getting me pretty excited!
Klamp, where approximately are you located? I wouldnt mind having a nice steelhead smoked. Not sure I would smoke a 5 year old salmon but a nice rainbow would be delicious.

Believe it or not .. NADO .. most 4 to 5 yr. old salmon are younger than alot of the Steelhead out there .
If you can get a chrome firm fish out of Huron , being a salmon won't matter , it will smoke fine .
