*Considered a chat room?
Im not sure whether the shoutoutbox works as a chat room?!

*Could there be a section where OPs could make a thread and in that thread post what they captured, for example.
Picture of fish
" - gear
" - perhaps a close up pic of the lure or bait
Also explained the methods used in the process, and any thoughts when catching the fish.

(") means the same as above which is basically "picture of"
Its more of a format of writting about your catch but perhaps a section for this type of format could be made.

*Also is there a way to incorporate a map to the site. Where OPs/Members could pinpoint where the usually fish, where they fished the night before and write their thoughts about the place.

For example like on facebook: Derp was at "Samuel Smith blah blah park" OP then writes : There was a really nice spot over by the blah blah, perhaps add picture.

Just my thoughts

All great input and ideas so far guys!

Just as an update... We are patiently waiting for the release of the new 3.4 series of the forum software to be released (anticipated to be sometime in the coming weeks) before the development of the new OFF board commences. The reason behind this is that the new 3.4 line will introduce a new skinning system that will be incompatible with current 3.3.X line, as well as other changes that will render many of the current modifications obsolete.

I will keep you guys posted on any progress that is made...

In the mean time, please feel free to continue to add to this thread if you have any other ideas.

Thanks!

Hi Admin,
I read the whole topic but I didn't see this... If I missed this or subject repeated, please pardon me. I don't mean to repeat it.
How about a Poll/survey section for the OFF upgrade.
Let say a questions with multiple 4 to 5 answers. . .
You can setup a weekly survey questions..
What do you all think ?
Please don't shoot me. Just to contribute for better OFF.
Thanks,Set hook

That sounds like a great idea! I don't think any one else came up with that!

It's a good idea. I actually thought about this too but if it's opened to everyone you'll find 1000 guys in "your" spot. I was thinking this should be in the VIP section for dedicated members only. A general format for fishing reports I think would help noobs get better. Just hope OFF doesn't make VIP access too easy.

On "other" forums ... you could be SHOT, RIDICULED ... and subjected to banishment! lol
On this site, I would like to think that your opinions and suggestions are well received.

No one's perfect , even if a mistake is made.

Course, I HAVE NEVER EVER EVER... made any such blunders....

*SMILES*

Love your idea

i would suggest adding a "HOT SPOTS" topic... similar to the apple app ifishontario.com which has lots of potential..

of course hot spots for those who care to share...

I think the creater of a topic should be able to delete the topic entirely.
Hope this helps,

Cat

Sorry if these have already been suggested: a mentoring section where people can get together and fish with someone more experienced, divided by geographic areas with a calender and designated meeting places. Also if there was a simpler and quicker way to put pictures and video on a topic.

Thanks.

Great idea. Will definately help a lot of new anglers. It's easiest to learn with a mentor beside you. Questions and answers are great over the forums, but there's nothing like interacting with somebody more experienced faced to face.

a simpler and quicker way to put pictures and video...that would be awesome for slow people such as myself

Photobucket! The forum shouldn't even have a photo upload option, it would force people to use photobucket, which makes viewing the pics easier anyhow because they are embedded in the thread.

I think the best way is the way showed here:http://www.ontariofishingforums.com/forum/topic/13896-photo-sharing/

With photo bucket I got to make an account and do all that crap.

...... I agree with the mentoring section, I will somehow find the time to mentor Danish women between the ages 20 and 30 on the fine art of angling. That's how I roll, it's all about giving back.

Just doing my part
