How about a volunteer opportunities section that is placed in an area where people will see it every time they log on? It might be best if only members can view this area as sometimes these groups dont like these events posted all over the internet.

Groups like CRAA, TU, DU, OFAH, MNR could post stream rehabilitation and stocking opportunities online in order to get more bodies out to help.

While we're at it why not set up a portal to facilitate donations to these organizations as well?

Maybe you can update the GTA pond Maps Beta with names of ponds and other information such as species available like Fish-On line by the MNR.
I know there isn't that much info on lots of the ponds but some of them are popular like Grenadier Pond and Lake Aquitaine and people have fished here before.
Having reports available on the GTA Pond Maps would be good. When you click one of the red markers for a pond, reports about that place come up.

I'm not an admin but open to ideas regarding mapping. The GTA Pond Maps project we started kind of stalled when Openfire was on hiatus.There are tons of websites and information that could be directly linked to lakes and rivers in Google Maps.If anyone has suggestions let em fly.

I don't know if anyone has made this suggestion yet. But, since our activity depends heavily on the weather is there any way to have a map where you can find the current and upcoming weather for a particular location you plan to go to? The Weather Network site has alot of ads and other junk on it, it takes time to load and is usually wrong anyways. They suck but I don't know of a more reliable accurate site for weather forecast.

That example is very generic ... I was thinking of incorporating weather plus the hydrometric data for each river.

Id also suggest that the shoutbox be made private and only accessible for members with a certain # of posts

I noticed when u receive a new message you need to clear both the bold number indicating a new message and also the messenger button indicating a new message. Kind of annoying.



Ways to keep members active - maybe require at least one Valuable post every x months that gets reviewed ?

I'm for that, sure would make it easy to find a member when they're in a crowd of other anglers.

i like this idea, as i only travel to certain locals a couple of times a year and would be great to be able to recognize another OFF member if they were around.

Is there anyway to increase the number of people on the PM? The max is 5 including OP. I think 8 or 10 would be better.
