AS the topic says, still no fish to be found on the Ganny. They are very few if any people fishing off the pier and even less people in the trench. Come on rain..........

Thanks for the report. I plan to pass that way Sunday on my way to Trenton. Suppose to rain a bit and hope more rain will come. How many piers are there in Port Hope? I never been there b 4. I want to try my blinking plastic twin tail lure.

Maybe the salmon know there won't be much rain this fall and are trying to get up as early as possible. Perhaps it's their animal instinct, like how they can navigate themselves towards tribs to spawn.

The warm spring we had might have had something to do with it. The smallmouth came in early too. Back in march I caught a smallie at erindale. Others reported the same thing. Basically, we are getting runs of fish an entire month earlier than usual! Just goes to show that we don't know everything there is to know about these fish.

Try fishing the mouths for fish that are active in the morning and evening. Throw spoons and noisy plugs. 10hrs of doing this should produce something.

Was in Port Hope this morning, trying my luck an Luck it was. Lost one an landed one beauty. Pic is on my phone so can't upload. One thing I would like to add is, to all those dipshits that sit in the pools an it's one massive massacre. Theyre has to be three hundred fish dead and floating, up on land in the bushes. Everywhere. I have pics that would make any respectful angler cry. Later I will try to up load on its own topic. Sorry for the topic side track. Apologies

Indeed.

Fished a more western pier for the evening bite and between 6 of us hit about 20 fish.

Then went to the ganny for first light and DISGUSTING.

So many dead fish down from the dam. Water is so low and clear. There should be a voluntary no fishing law put into place right now for all these tribs.

It's going to be a sad year in 5 years when the return is complete crap due to this huge die off.

Lets hope todays rain lasts for 2 days and all the salmon trapped can get up to spawning ground.
