any OFFers have the new Pflueger President 6900 series or Supreme XT? Thinking about grabbing one for a light rod (6 lb test) - not sure which specific model it would be - and curious what the reviews are

thanks!

I have the Supreme XT in 30-size. Nice and light for what it's worth. Absolutely zero trouble with it.

Nice reels just the drag isn't as smooth as a Fuego or Stradic. They are pretty darn light.

I've got 8lb Sugoi in there now. Have also had 6lb Trilene on it. Both work well. I've also used Maxima Ultragreen 10lb but it's too stiff.

I'd rate this reel as good if not better than the Stradic. Seems marginally better built, but still better. The sure click bail thing is a gimmick, I'd prefer if it were quiet to be honest.

I have the Pfluger President, I think it is a great reel. I have 8 pd trilene on it now. The first thing I noticed when I picked it up was the weight, it is quite light but that does not mean that it is not durable. I try to be nice to my reels, but sometimes accidents happen... I dropped my reel a few times and once when it was wet (raining) I dropped it in the mud. All I did was rinse the mud off the exterior and the I removed the spool and rinsed any thing in there away, in 5 minutes and it was back in perfect condition. It still worked with the mud on/in it! It spins really smooth and the anti reverse it great. If you could, see if you could use on for a few casts...

Hey Dugger:

I had one of them on File so I went back to Bass Pro to see what I could find.

They are now showing the "Supreme XT" as "No Longer Available". Also the "President XP" as "Out Of Stock On Line".
That doesn't mean you couldn't find them somewhere else.

They have Another "Supreme XT" available at $149.99. 4 Models.

The "President 6900 Series" is still available in 5 Models from 4Lb To 18Lb Models. 2 Ultralight up to Medium Weight Capacity.

I found another Pflueger that LOOKS Interesting. The "Trion GX-7" in 5 Models at $29.99 To $39.99. 4Lb To 10Lb

I also stumbled on, in the "Recommended Section" a "Trion GX-7 Combo" at $59.99, 5 Models, 5Ft To 7 Ft., Ultralight To Medium.
