went too bronte yesterday to my secrete spot water was so lowww but still managed to pull in 3 massive males plus 20 for siure....the bridge was packed lol no action there....this rain we are having today should spark a big run in my opinion.....how are you guys making out?

Haven't got anything yet, was banking on this rain to help out with that haha. Been out quite a bit to the mouth at bronte tossing some glow spoons and nothing. Also been to petro park twice and the Provincial park trying out some egg patterns with the new fly rod annnnd nothing yet. any suggestions? I'm trying to google map some locations, slow goin'. Im from kitchener so its quite the hike, but any spots that are not always packed to the tits would be great to find.

Honestly....

Almost any Trib, is an opportunity.
East and West.

Try the Mouth (pier) and then somewhere else.
Rain causes runs.

Leg work leg work leg work!!!! I've been every where man! Find your own honey holes, if you wanna hit fish drift skein under a float. Flies and lures work, but IMO, nothing beats roe. I would suggest looking at google maps in satelite mode and finding deep pools in your tribs that way, every trib should be almost stacked right up about now. I have yet to have a skunking since late aug. You wanna really hit some fish and learn some new stuff? Check out trip to the saugeen topic.

I have been to the mouth at Bronte, i have been to petro and the provincial park, mainly when it has rained either just before, during and after. If the mouth is slow I move upstream to see if any have moved in. Just have not been successful thus far in doing so, thats all I'm saying.

Haha i have no problem with any sort of leg work! The only thing is I'm usually with my girlfriend, so time and studying can be limited plus I'm not overly familiar with the GTA tribs due to limited time on the water around there. Im not trying to ask for anyones honey holes at all and i hope that it doesn't seem like i am. I will do the satellite search and read that thread! Thanks for your post FD, i appreciate it.

I too have fished Bronte with no success. I have had a couple hits, but thats about it. Ive also hit up a couple northern tribs with nothing to show for it. Fishing teaches me tremendous patience, persistence and to enjoy the small things while on the water. In my opinion, Bronte does not have the water levels to maintain a big run of fish yet. On Friday I guess there was a small run that made it through with the rain. I think we will know when the majority of the fish are in, as it will be a complete zoooo! Keep trying and rest asure that they will come to Bronte. All the best in your pursuit of the almighty salmon!

Yes, I'm very optimistic that i eventually will be rewarded for the time on the water, trying to learn as much as i can about timing runs and i want to catch a salmon properly, i normally don't fish for salmon (if you couldn't tell) lol. Yeah i have seen that Bronte can be a complete zoooo haha its insane eh?! Thank you for your encouragement Dewy and all the best to you as well!
