Hey everyone,

I'm new to the forum, but I figured it would be a good place to absorb/share some information. Was planning on heading out to Bronte tomorrow, was thinking about walking a few K up the creek
north of Petro Park. Has anyone seen any action around these parts? Any success with certain fly patterns this time of year?

Or if you feel going elsewhere would be more productive?

Feel free to make suggestions, any response is appreciated.

Walked a long stretch yesterday MM, not enough water and no fish sorry to say.
btw. the pic is from last fall....

When Bronte is ready I'd be happy to take some guys out for a quick outing.

thanks I guess I'll just have to be more patient for river stage salmon I have no experience fishing the petro park area with spoons or other methods, and it seems many people fish the area at night (which I don't have time for but would). Is it still viable during the day? I prefer less crowded areas, and im assuming thats not one of them
right?

does anyone recommend some spots by piers, etc where I can simply cast from land while avoiding snaggers/ other jerks?

YUP...kind of crazy (everywhere) when the salmon are on...

I'm with you on that one CC, Petro Park is particularly crazy, as is the pier.
I have a friend who likes to take me there, and not being one to pass up a fishing opportunity I have discovered a few pockets and small pools where I get Trout, Rainbow and Brown away from the Salmon "anglers."
I also find that if you fish the tail end of pools where all the Salmon "anglers" are that you are away from most of them and quite often the Trout are just sitting there gorging themselves on eggs that float down to them.
And CC, I'd love to go on an outing when it gets colder. I know quite a few good areas away from Petro Park, but being our resident Silver Bullet guru I'm pretty sure that I could show you no new places. And likewise I think I have fished every inch of Bronte from Carlisle, where I used to live, down to the mouth.

Definately stay away from using spoons at petro park, that would definately be a one way ticket to snag land.
