So last night at about 6pm myself and my 7yr old little girl were doing some late season bass fishing and they were going crazy, taking top water at will , crank baits, worms " my little girls choice " and basically anything you threw at um , so i started wondering if the salmon were going to react similar to our recent weather??? so we fished until about 930pm caught a dozen fish over 4lbs large mouth and smallies all in my local area " kitchener/waterloo" went home got little one to bed after a bath and the itch wouldnt go away lol... So i grabbed a 4 pack of redbull and off i went to check out a couple eastern tribs with a buddy. Started at on of the mouths and there was no one there but us and 2 other guys.. had 2 fish on in 40 mins both cut me off along the rocks.. Anyways once sun came up we moved way up river and boom, with in 3 drifts got a big ugly chinny on skein lol and they just kept poppin had a dozen fish on in 2 hrs got 4 in 2 on a #0 little gold mepps, and 2 on big chunks of skein .... Started getting pretty tired so headed back my way with one stop on the way at a fav hole of mine.. got into a few fish on the mepps again but they were so fresh and active they were into trees in seconds, managed to keep this lil silver bullet at bay and got him in for a quick pic before a clean and easy release, just got home now thought id share mine and my daughters 15 hr fishing mission !!

ps forgive me on pic quality all from y blackberry!

Happy Fishing Everyone!!

Sounds like a Great Outing!

Glad to see you and your daughter both enjoy the time out!

Love the pics, some real nice Bass there.

The last Piece of Salmon (Although not "huge") looks like a REAL SCRAPPER and FRESH as Daisies.

Well done!

Apparantely, some more fish have you and your daughters name on them!

Thanks guys anytime i can get out with her makes my day fish or not, but on a day like that its extra special!! Cant wait till she can handle a 10 footer with a chinny on the other end lol

Blair: Tx alot!! im guessing that fish was around 8-10lbs he peeled 75yrs of line off in like 20 seconds lol, was a fantastic fish !!

15 hour fishing day....sounds like a vacation to me....lol
great post...

Great Report! Those bass are the ones I've been dreaming about! It's great that you takes your daughter fishing, by the smile on her face it looks like she enjoys it too! Big colour difference between the salmon, how come that is? Is it because one has been in the river longer then the other? Thanks.

Right on! Looking forward to some LMB action this week and hopefully some fresh chinnys as well. Beautiful fish!

Wow, nice report, your daughter is having a blast in that on e picture, great bass and great salmon, thanks for that :)

Looks like you got yet itch scratched! Cool that your little girl is right into it.

Wow, fresh run coho on a spinner, doesn't get much better than that. Sweet report - thank you for posting.

The last salmon is a coho - not a chinook, hence the colour difference.

Some chinooks get a little yellow, some stay pretty silver, others are on the dark side. The colours are mixed even when they're fresh run. As they begin to darken before spawning, you can see quite a bit of variation in Lake O tribs.

Is that a big brown or a chinook, is a question you will ask until you learn to discern them.
