Summer recap

I haven't been on the forum much at all since the trout opener when I posted a couple shots.
This summer definitely saw less fishing time compared to last year...but I still managed to get out when I could and managed some nice fish.
I consider myself a very multi-species angler and enjoy what all have to offer.

After trout opener, things started with small stream fishing for residents.
I got a lot of brook trout and some nice browns as well
My first time fishing dry flies on the 5wt. What a rush!
Small fish, but the colours are amazing.

My first time fishing open water for whitefish!

Then came zone 17 walleye opener.
My first time targeting them in distinct weedlines and clumps ripping bucktails.
Interesting technique that definitely produced.
Never caught so many walleyes in my life.

Ever since being introduced to carp fishing a couple years ago, I have a high respect for them and their fighting capabilities.
I didn't get to go out all that much for them, but still had my fun before the spawn took place.

Then came bass opener. I absolutely love topwater fishing for feisty largemouth.

Toothy critters
Pike that exploded on my topwater frog. Lots of hammer handles, but this was the biggest of the day

Healthy Kawartha muskie

August rolled around and it was time for fresh chinnies.
I actually don't like fishing for them in the rivers and much prefer casting for them with hardware out on the piers.

Very respectable hen off the pier

I am booked for an Algonquin trip next weekend - first time up there!
Hope to get into some larger sized brookies for sure!

After that, I wait for the cold so I can start float fishing for steel.

Try a 2-3wt for brookies on dries. It's hilarious, especially when you hook at 12 incher.

6' 3wt St. Croix Avid is a great starter for the task

Wow! Those are AWESOME fish! I love the variety! That second pike is a monster! Holey Moley would not go swimming where that came from! Those bucket mouths are HUGE! Thanks for sharing all of these photos.

Awesome pics, looks like a pretty good way to spend the summer. That muskie looks amazing and the bass are huge, especially liked the coloours on the little bite sized trouts
