Erindale Park

Good day all,
Is it worth hitting Erindale Park at all? I'm about 15 minutes away during the day and thought I might spend 1/2 hour or so giving it a go.

Any suggestions as to best place to park, etc.?

Use spoons or roe for salmon.

Dont throw spoons at Erindale, the pools are too low and crowded and that will just result in snag after snag. Floating roe or flies would be your best bet.

If your 15 minutes away why are you even asking? lol I drive 1.5 hours to get there so people like you should be checking and letting me know!!

Bright Yarn (Western Canada Technique) also does the Trick on Clearer conditions.

You DO NOT use TREBLES or HEAVY WEIGHTS!

(Small split shot sinker and #6 Octapus hook)

Simply allow the PINK YARN / BRIGHT YELLOW to drift by the Holding Salmon.

Many will give the INSTINCTUAL STRIKE.

IF they are NOT BITING, go find some that are!

Nado, I've never tried fishing for Salmon before so am pretty much clueless! I actually had no idea that Erindale park is as close as it is!

I'll post back in a bit with what I find. I'll probably just do some recon today.

Well, just got back from reconning the river (just over 10 minutes away including lights) and it was interesting for me. People have some pretty fancy rigs! Saw people using Center Pin reels, spinning reels and all of them using floats. Most of the rods were pretty long rods (guessing 10-11 feet?) I would have felt out of place with my little 6'6" Ugly Stick! LOL!

I actually saw quite a few Salmon in the water (gotta love Polarized sunglasses!) but didn't see anybody hit one.

Edit: I was told that you can only use a single barbless hook in the river itself?

This was very kind of you. Many people like myself waste lot's of money, gas / time, driving from far away to places like this based on the reputation alone. This saves us allot of time and money to figure out if they are even there or not. Cheers!

THIS IS INCORRECT.
At this part of the Credit, it is under "Normal Regs".

You may fish with: ONE POLE (Rod) and have up to 4 hooks on a line.

*Single Barbless is a great option to use, but not in force at ERINDALE.

THE UPPER CREDIT (Forks) has DIFFERENT REGS.

Always double check if in doubt, and just to be sure.

There is a PINNED SECTION on the REGS.

With that being said...dont put 4 hooks on your line lol one hook will do just fine for salmon
