The guys that came up with the idea of the Saugeen trip - Float down (for the suggestion), and ChaseChrome (for the execution and his wise*cracks* ).
Mike of Fish heads, openfire, and Amundson Outdoors for donating the prizes that were gratefully accepted.
ChaseChrome, CJR, NADO, Brian, Odoyle, and ALN for being great guys to fish with - I'd freeze my fingers and toes to fish with you guys - after my time unfreezing them in the Sauna!
And Mother Nature for her many and varied bounties!
And regarding matters that matter:
Caught the 'most prettiest' hen Steelie (CC has the pics) - this is my 1st Steelie ever, and the 2nd fish of my life thus far. Many thanks for the ideas, tips, etc. being shared on OFF!

Species: Sea-run Rainbow Trout aka Steehead aka Steelie(http://en.wikipedia....i/Rainbow_trout)

Here's to more OFF (Ontario Fishing Fun) to come!!

Dave and I caught a skunk yesterday, with only a few hits. People were pulling chrome from waters we had drifted seconds before. We spent 11 hours on the water yesterday in some very rough conditions, but toughed it out.
Todays forecast didn't sound much more promising, but again we were at waters edge by 6.15. Dave hooked into a nice chromer on his 3rd cast. He chased it downstream for a few minutes before it broke him off . Again people were catching fish all around us.
Finally at about noon in the rain I hooked and landed a "small" rainbow about 3 lbs . A nice fish it was quickly released ( sorry I don't have a camera).
Clearly the fishing Gods were not smiling upon us this week end. We used roe, trout beads and yarn. We were doing nothing wrong.
Despite the weather I had a good time and look forward to more OFF outings and hope I can meet more of you guys by the water.
On a side note, I was disappointed to see only 2 fish besides mine released. They were both caught across the river from me by 2 guys who were fishing together. One was the biggest fish I saw caught all week end, approaching 10 lbs I had to stop casting during that 15 minute fight cause the fish was determined to stay on my side of the river
Cheers and here's to many more OFF outings.

Alfie and myself were there sat morning around 6 am, we only ran into 3 other OFF members, Rusty, Rap and another i forget who. Where was everyone? lol. I was skunked, lost a nice one this morning, was still too dark to see my float i just set at the end of a drift and it was fish on, for about 10 mins then fish off. Alfie lost one and got one. Other then that we spent alot of time fishin in the rain!
We were all fishing south of the abutments lol. You might of walked right past us.

Everyone we asked if they were from OFF looked at us funny lol. I wrote OFF on the back on my Yellow raincoat in big black letters and Alfie wrote it on his waders. There will always be next time. Glad you all had fun and caught some steel!. Seen a ton of fish landed, and as alfie said only 2 fish plus Alfies released. Guess everyone was hungry this weekend...

We started quite a bit south of the abutments, and were on the shore opposite you. We only made it to the dam later in the afternoon. We were all fishing south of the abutments lol. You might of walked right past us.
Funny thing is we were at the right place at about 6a.m., but it was dark and we couldn't see any water. We thought we were on a dead end road since no vehicles were there.
Ridx and I didn't miss any time on the water, we just missed all you guys. Not sure if we missed something in the communication, but next time I will make sure where to be. It's been 12 years since I fished the 'Geen a lot and I had forgotten how much water there is from Dennys to the lake.
Was anyone still there today? Like Ridx said, we were asking folk if they were from Off. I said yesterday after looking down the river and the amount of people, that after asking randomly we found madriver, one member.
Alfie.
