Well its certainly been a while since ive last made a post but its always nice to get back here.
With more and more fly tying materials accumulating ive came to a problem with how i should organize all these!
i have all my materials packed in one box which is starting to overflow and cant even shut! is there anything that someone would recommend to get to put everything in?

Soooo can't help ya, I'm in the same boat......... lol. Where do you tie your flies, on the same table? I've been looking at a portable tying station that would fold up out of the way. Got some ideas from google. But I'm cheap and will probably make it myself. I was even considering making just a plain portable table top and then all the materials could go into one of those CT parts draw cabinets. I'm still in the planning stages.
Hope I gave you some ideas.

My table is always a mess. i find it more organized that way.
What i have started doing is using large tupperware bins. they are not pretty but they are cheap and stackable and portable. It also makes it easy to squeeze most of the air out of the feathers and take up less space overall.
What i will advise is to make sure your natural materials are SEALED. I lost a lot of materials to some kind of little tiny moth bug. the worst feeling after a few years away from tying was to open up my metz hackle box (shoe boxes) and find some of them eaten to nothing along with some other materials.
happy tying!

I store all my stuff in 2 or 3 inch high clear plastic Plano boxes .That stack well ,Then organize the sectional dividers to suit...hackle section...dubbing section...beads... spey hackle...etc.Doesn't mean my table still is piled with stuff

thanks a bunch everyone! i was thinking about just getting large compartment boxes as well just so sort all my materials
but theres definitely no doubt my whole table will always be devoured by feathers and furs! i just really need something a bit bigger for all the materials and also thought i should be a little more organized
that usually never happens though!
