That's an incredibly dark brown, and likewise a very dark steelie for November.

The brown has a chrome stripe going down the middle, and ultra red spots. Very cool looking fish.


Funny you brought that up cause thats the first thing I noticed on the fish when i beached it. Ive since looked through my pics and the browns on this thread, weirdly enough thats the first lake run brown ive caught with red dots. If anyone else has a pic of a lake run brown with red dots on it throw it up!

hahah im serious, i went back almost 4 years of fishing pics and looked at every lake run brown i caught, none of em had red dots lol. ive even caught chrome browns with blue dot behind theyre eyes but none with red dots like this one! The only browns ive found with red dots are ressies.

Nice fish, wondering if you ever caught a salmon out of Huron or Gbay that had white meat? Or were they all orange/red fleshed?

Nice Brown! I just found it odd that even after going through film photos from yeaaars back that one was actually the first one with red/orange dots.

cc i read a study from france that said in the system they studied the resident browns and the run browns (not sure if lake or ocean run) were genetically identical. they couldnt determine why some stayed as resident fish and others turned into anadromous fish. not sure if it applies to our rivers. weird tho....
