Definitely a Lake Ontario fish that was in the boot mix. Way too early for North.

Two weeks ago, beautiful day
that heron attacked me once while un hooking a little bow, it startled me, sent the hook through my finger, the trout into the sand ( which was eaten by the bird ) and the bird flying into a tree, he now follows me everywhere

Out of all the fishing I do there is nothing like rainbow fishing for me. Not only are they such a beautiful fish to look at with the many color variations within a single system but they fight hard as hell. On the last few outings I have had fish literally jump four feet out of the water and entangle my line on over hanging trees! I mean, jumped over tree limbs! I just stand there in awe when they do that. I thought I would share a few caught on a huge 4 inch flesh fly. I have even caught little guys with this fly. These guys during the salmon spawn are just gluttons. lol
