those asking about the arc in my pic... if you do things right, your rod shouldn't snap. You have a cork handle on your rods for a reason to identify where you are supposed to hold your rod! You see these guys reefing on their rods a foot up from the cork and its hilarious watching them snap. My rod is nothing crazy just a raven matrix 12'9 light 2-10lb test. I run 10lb main and was reefing on those monsters with 5lb fluro. FIVE. I can't believe I used to run 6-8. Not necessary. Hold your rod where it is built to be held and you will have great success.
come more arc pics lol. Sure you guys know where this is, its no secret.

Matrix is a beast of a stick for chinnies been using it for couple years now and fully enjoy the fight on them. They however are not a good stick for steel tips a bit too stiff IMHOGT: I have the exact same rod, seems like a decent stick but I haven't had many fish to test it on unfortunately.

Myself and a couple friends tried them on lighter leaders for steel and all found it does not handle that well. Not to say you can't land them on this rod just stating I personally prefer a lighter tip rod for steel runs and head shakes.Really? I thought if anything this rod was a whippy little thing. Though I'm no expert on this stuff.

The RV9 gives an intense looking bend as well; especially on these bigger fish.

that bend is nasty, the raven rods I have had have been very durable rods. I think if handle a rod in a certain way it shouldn't snap.I have an old 13 6 aventa I'v been trying to kill for a while now, 14lb main to 8-12lb leaders and relentless horsing For being the rod it is I am surprised It has taken such a beating

One from last week. I actually prefer these smaller ones compared to the huge ones.
