FG is officially infected with the mykiss bug! Only cure is a 6-12 month leave of absence from work, to dedicate herself full-time to chasing chrome. After which point she will be re-evaluated and possibly assigned to another 6-12 months of fishing. 

If only I could have known about the river scene when I was a kid, I would have planned my career a little differently!

Great fish. The genuine excitement that you had when showing us that picture is just intoxicating. It's what it's all about and is something many forget about while out fishing (myself included sometimes). Congrats on your biggest and thanks for reminding me what fishing is really about.

What the hell to you take in that bag fg?

 

Its lightly packed at the moment.  I carry a couple tiny fly boxes, terminal, towel, extra hand and body warmers, camera, extra forceps, extra gloves, coffee, sometimes beer, and contraband.    

 

It looks big but I cant even feel it on my back.

Definitely an ultimate fish but not the way I want to see one. Saw this fish floating downstream on Wednesday. Poor thing was still alive and kicking. Looks to me like a dog got to it. Poor thing was still kicking around. The picture doesn't do it justice, at the very least a 12 pound buck, probably a few more pounds.

Definitely not anything to do with a lamprey wound. It was in two spots that were very torn and it had a bloody punctured eye.

Probably a coyote, lots of them live by the rivers, and the steel are definitely targeted by them
