Haha, thanks guys!

Crazy fights on these guys, cartwheels after a hookset, upstream and downstream in a matter of seconds.

I totally forgot how they fight, I was so used to how salmon react after getting hooked.

My first-ever steelhead on the pin. I had hooked into 3 others this week and lost them in a variety of ways. The shock-absorption of the long rod is amazing, and learning to effectively apply the drag manually must be something that comes with time. Caught it on a Huron trib with an 8mm orange bead. Was alone and had to set him on shore to get the shots, then revived him and let him go.

Here it is, a male of around 3-4 lbs if I'm not mistaken:

Went 1 for 3 this day, on one of my favorite Huron tribs. Pink worm and chartreuse 8mm bead. Great fight.

FYI, I know handling fish in the gill plate isn't the best way, but this fish was flopping all over and I really wanted a quick pic before letting her go. She swam away quickly and unharmed. [emoji1]

Those photos are awesome guys. But you need to learn how to handle fish better if you are releasing it back to river. If you are keeping it then that is another story.

Yes, I agree. Like I said I normally do not handle them as such. She was squirming around and I really wanted a quick pic. She was release full of energy and unharmed.
