My first on a pin. NADO being the nice guy he is let me borrow his Sheffield to gain some expierience before I purchase my own. Man what a day to learn, 70km gusts and white out snow squalls!
congrats on the first one, nice fish, how did you like using the CP? you think you'll get one?

With that reel, I don't think you can afford it. But I like how snuck that reel in every shot. Also would of never bought kp if the custom makers could of made me one on time. Kp is unlucky man's high end.
agreed custom is way better than any store bought reel. i plan on buying a tailout drifter one day but ive got wayyyyy more other fishing gear i want that is more important (new flasher, another jonboat, musky gear) than upgrading my reel lol one day though. as for the line, i was just too lazy to change it but i just picked up some raven 10 to put on.

actually customs are not way better, the r2 and zeppelin are top of the line reels. only issue is justifying the price for kp for not being hand made and semi mass produced. also canadian drifter is not that expensive. unless you want the drag version. top 5 in must have reels for me. right now, next two reels i want to get are a milner and paine falls. but good luck with PF maybe end of 2014 lol

I really enjoyed a new challenge. I think learning to cast on a big trib helped too even tho I wasn't fishing where I should be alot of the time, because I couldnt reach the seam. But after alot of trial and error I was finally able to make some good casts, resulting in a fish.congrats on the first one, nice fish, how did you like using the CP? you think you'll get one?

i bet CA87 doesnt wanna fish floss-friendly drainage ditches lol we fish big water, way more fun than fighting a fish in a pool the size of a bathtub lol

no custom IS better. if im dropping that much money on a reel i wanna meet the guy who build it and keep the money in canada. but for now ill continue to slay the steel on my okuma. if u hate okuma so much lets have a friendly competition , okuma vs kp see who catches more fish lol

i wouldn't say kp is worth the money, I've tried the zeppelin, to be honest its a nice smooth reel, nice start up, but more then 800 bucks for a pin? no way, ill spend that towards gas, lures, hooks, sinkers, floats, etc. i have a raven pin and i have a stream side vortex, I've said it before and ill say it again, that reel is amazing, awesome start up, very smooth, and less then 200 bucks, if you can find it in the store, you are lucky, i like it more then the okuma raw 2, but really i like the raw 2, i like the zeppelin, except look at the price on the okuma, streamside and look at the price on the zeppelin, you are overpaying for a brand name, just as in any other product, there are customs out there for 500, that no-one knows of, that are better then kp, they have disc drag, good start up etc. its a matter of brand name and advertising.

you must have fished with an R2 or zeppelin to compare it to canada drifter, river keepr, ang spec, milner kingfisher, pf demacro to say they are way better in performance? i semi agree with you that money should stay in canada, cause a paine falls is well worth the money going over down south. also better reel does not catch any more fish than cheaper spinning reel does. to me it is a waste of 200 dollars to buy something that does not do it's job properly. all centerpins spin same in big flows, talk to me when you fish in slow frogwater.
Posted 24 November 2013 - 09:19 PM
well i guess ill never talk to you cuz i like to fish big and or fast water, frog water is lame breh . if youve ever actually caught a bow anywhere other than a lake o ditch you would know its much more fun fighting a fish in big/fast flows
