Living in muskoka has it's benefits, gorgeous scenery, tons of lakes loaded with bass pike and lake trout, but we sure as hell don't have any steel.
Which is a problem, because I spend probably thousands of dollars a year in fuel just to get to the river, thankfully the company i work for in Barrie has more work up here then there :s

Managed to sneak away from house hold chores and my better half to attempt another successful outting. Wasn't as good as last weekend (I lost count of how many fish I hit!!! Lol!!) but still managed a very good number today :)

I also broke my lure virginity in the river, hit a couple on a blue fox pink and silver spinner. It was kind of a cool feeling, the initial strike and fighting them on a stronger shorter rod.

Some fish porn for you gents.

Prior to this fish I lost a big fresh chinny, threw in the same roe bag and instantly this young fellow was on!

Every time I close my eyes all I can see is my float burned into the back of my retinas. Anyone else having this issue? Too much wine.

lol, I get that sometimes after a full day of fishing. You lie down in bed and close your eyes and see a float drifting by.

Well, after whacking the guy in the next seat while setting the hook as I was watching "A River Runs Through It", I thought it was best that I sign up for a 12 step program to deal with that type of stuff. It's helped a lot. t :D

Nice Fish. Although there is no steelhead in Muskoka, there are a number of lakes that have rainbows and that same spinner work well in many of them.

I overheard some older gentlemen talking about the dreams they get after fishing for a full day. lol One of the guys was saying his wife has to be careful when sleeping beside him after a full day of fishing cause he would randomly "set the hook" while asleep haha.

The river imagery when trying to sleep is not as weird as the tetris dreams, for anyone who was ever addicted to tetris. You'd close your eyes and be playing tetris, funny how our brains can do that.
